Default What should I look for/what prices toexpect when buying a xB

I'm looking for a 5 speed 1st gen xB and can pay up to 8000 max. Is this a feasable idea or should I look for another car? If it is what should I look out for on older xB's? Any significant problems that can stand out?

In that price range you will be lucky to find a high mile xB with body flaws. Why not save some more $s and find a nice low mile one for more around 11k?

I agree with that... an 8k box would more than likely be in pretty bad shape, and you'll spend more money getting it fixed up.

Like Jeff said, 11k is a pretty good starting point. The xB retains a pretty good resale value.

well, i would recommend checking salvage yards that actually guarantee a perfectly re-built car.

Mine was a rebuild, and snagged it for 10k.

I have seen some here locally on craigslist.com from dealers where it will be near that range and in descent shape but the miles are usually up there somewhere. They tend to be automatics though frequently.
