I orderd my tC 4 weeks ago, and I have 2-4 weeks to go before arival. I was told by a friend that when you get a car straight of the line like that you can't was the car for 3-4 weeks because the clear coat has to harden? Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Yeah... I washed mine a week after I got it. No problems. Watch out for your first rock chip, it will probably eat right through the paint.

At our dealership we wash the car at the time of delivery. The clear coat if fine before they put the cars on the trucks to take to the dealers.

This is an old wives tale. It is true that paint even when baked will continue to cue for about a week. And some say your not supposed to wax a car during this time, but thats poo... At my shop we wetsand/buff and then wax every car we deliver... And we are talkin about BMWs and Porshes. Todays Paint has suck a high Flash rate that its 95% cured after an hour of baking.

waiting is a myth. when a car manufacturer paints a car is all metal parts with no moldings which always the parts to be baked and higher temp then repainting a car at a body shop. by the time it reachs the buyer it has been sitting around for a little bit of time
