View Full Version : cologne
shoultesy 12-04-2007, 03:13 PM my boyfriend wants me to buy him some cologne for his birthday, which is Friday. I don't want to come out and ask, I'd rather just sniff around and find something that I think is sexy. What are some of your favorites so I can quickly sniff down a winner?
bencott 12-04-2007, 03:34 PM my girl likes Polo Sport. it's too bad i don't wear cologne.
burkpe 12-04-2007, 03:53 PM I personally wear Burberry London.. I think it smells great. a new one out is Hypnose Homme it smells wonderful too.
matt_a 12-04-2007, 03:59 PM My wife usually helps me pick out cologne. After all, what's the point in wearing something if she doesn't like the smell? That would kinda defeat the purpose for me as a married guy. :P Anyhow, she picked out my latest cologne and I really like it too. It's called R.S.V.P by Kenneth Cole. http://www.kennethcole.com/scripts/shop/product.asp?pid=8909&cc=KMRSV&title=&pw=thumbnail&var=0&srchtype=&srcharg=&size=0
Higgy 12-04-2007, 04:05 PM georgio armani black code. it smells awesome.
Minttoast 12-04-2007, 04:27 PM georgio armani black code. it smells awesome.
I completely agree with that. Thats more of the winter cologne for me. Im a big Armani Fan so it's usually Aqua Di Gio in the summer.
ChelsDS 12-04-2007, 05:22 PM I bought my bf Curve for him. I <3 that smell.
CatalepsicFox 12-04-2007, 05:26 PM A friend had gotten me Lacoste Essential by Lacoste last year which smells pretty nice.
vettereddie 12-04-2007, 05:59 PM Sex Panther, 60% of the time, works every time. It contains real panther bits, so you know it's good.
Seriously though, I kinda like Old Spice Signature. Actually has a nice scent, kinda citrusy. And it doesn't smell like your dad, unlike the original Old Spice.
Guille_Tc 12-04-2007, 06:05 PM Black Onyx or Curve for men get some pretty good reactions in my opinion. Can buy both at Macys
Dispatcher138 12-04-2007, 06:07 PM Curve or Abercrombie Fierce
shoultesy 12-04-2007, 06:37 PM WOW! I'm going to be one stinky lady... At least there are a few that I can skip. Thanks for all the info. :)
Enrique9876 12-04-2007, 06:40 PM try Vera Wang for men.... its in an all white box... smells awesome...
as a side note dont get Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce. i work at abercrombie and am thoroughly repulsed by the smell after weeks upon weeks of smelling it.
XB_BOY_2005 12-04-2007, 06:47 PM aqua di gio by armani, thats what i wear and my gf cant keep her hands off me ;)
HeathenBrewing 12-04-2007, 07:51 PM Hmmm.....Its important to know that every scent or cologne smells different on every person. The way a scent takes to your body and your skin is a question of chemistry, and has to do with the chemical reaction between you and the particular fragrance. While your friend smells great in the latest CK mens cologne, it could make you smell more like a gym locker. Its always important to try cologne before purchasing it.
That said, YSL combines seductively with my personal chemistry.
Dispatcher138 12-04-2007, 09:32 PM try Vera Wang for men.... its in an all white box... smells awesome...

jonathan110987 12-05-2007, 12:23 AM for winter i use burberry touch... summer i use fierce.
trentonm 12-05-2007, 12:28 AM I used to like the hollister jake cologne, but after working at Hollister and having to spray that stuff on the half hour for 6 months straight I got a lil sick of it. So i mixed it up, American eagle body spray and jake is a good soft combo.
outside of them:
Jean Paul Gaultier
Lacoste
Burberry
Angel for Men
are the top on my list.
Butane 12-05-2007, 12:35 AM first before you go sniffing, look at the cologne he has now. I get horrible headaches with strong cologne/perfume which is why I am very picky about cologne. Do you know what he likes? Does he like sweet/light or strong or musky scents? Is this a year round cologne or does he have one for summer and winter?
AKgoalie7 12-05-2007, 02:30 AM Depending on my mood, I wear these colognes:

13edge 12-06-2007, 09:25 AM Like AK, depending on my mood, I wear:

shoultesy 12-18-2007, 03:19 PM so I didn't get him cologne for his birthday. Its going to be Christmas instead. We went to Macy's on Sunday and after smelling all of those smells at the same time I'm all confused. The car smelled great on the way home... however it was a cluster of smells. He says that he'd PROBABLY like Clinque Happy for Men or Aqua Di Gio because he's had both before... eh. I don't know. Its probably going to end up Aqua Di Gio ....
tC4italy 12-18-2007, 03:29 PM haha armani does it again
EPIDEMIC 12-18-2007, 06:29 PM theres a discountinued cologne from dolce & gabanna called "BY" that was sex in a bottle
13edge 12-19-2007, 05:38 AM The Hudson Belk in crabtree has a wide selection of stuff, and I think there's 1 or 2 of the aisle vendors who sell cologne too. BTW, aisle vendors is a term I just made up. Whatever those dudes are that sell stuff in the... aisle between stores at malls.
HR_Guy 12-19-2007, 04:56 PM I don't wear cologne. But whenever I smell like food, my wife can't keep her hands off me because she know's I've been cooking.
tC4italy 12-19-2007, 05:20 PM  damn right
