Any autobody repair people here? Need opinion
My 06 tc was in an accident and the damage is $10,000. No engine damaged, only body damage (rear ended) .
How long will it take to fix my car?
My car has been in the bodyshop for a month and a half and i'm wondering if they are slacking off. Those autobody ____head won't return my car.
Thanks

yeah i had someone scrape across my front bumper and all they had to replace was the hood, front bumper and a headlight. took em like a month and a half to two months. I heard its hard to get stock parts for the tc.
Keep in mind the longer it takes the cheaper it is usually because then they dont have to rush it. We once had a Corvette stingray at the shop for half a year for a paint job. Perfect job only 2500. We didn't have to rush it, we could work on it when we had nothing els to do.
I was recently rear ended in my 06 tC as well. Unfortunately I got pushed forward into another vehicle. My car has been at the shop for 2 weeks now. Needless to say half of my car is gutted and sanded down. I need a new rear hatch, tail lights, headlights, front and rear bumpers, foglights, grilles, molding, lip spoiler, exhaust, spot welded frame, and some other stuff.
I ask every once in a while what the status of my vehicle is but don't want to rush them. Just need it back before school starts in January (might have to postpone that). Keep in mind that for the job to come out right they (bodyshop) needs to do a lot of prep work to get the car the way it was. Order parts, wait to receive them, remove dents, dings, sand, mask pieces off, ensure everything fits, etc. ( I work in parts at a Scion dealer and some common things like emblems can be backordered for weeks). No point in rushing a job to satisfy a customer when he/she gets a rattling car back just cause they are impatient. If so then the bodyshop has to redo everything from square one.
Delta, I want to get your bumper and keyhole plugs. Waiting for my car to get out of the shop.
