Ok so I'm making my choice and some folks on another thread are helping me make an informed decisions but now I want to know from Alpine owners (Alpine is what I'm leaning towards) are you happy with the blackbirdII NAV? I'm not going to get it yet... I'm going to get the HU first and then the NAV next month sometime. I wanted to know if you guys like the NAV? On cnet and other review type places it gives it about a 6 out of 10 which isn't so good.. and other units rate much higher on the NAV side of things, but the other factors and features of the Alpine are awesome which makes me want it but I don't want to be stuck with a sucky NAV... Also anyone know if the BlackBird II is upgradeable with new routes and map info?

I have the first blackbird, and I think the software is the same. If so it is upgradeable. I love that nav, and wouldn't want anything else.

isn't the blackbirdII something like 600 bucks ...why would someone wanna buy it for that price... when you could buy a HU that already has the nav built in for much cheaper

for that price you might as wel buy a z2

No, the original is like 275 and the new one is around $500. It is really easy to use, you can take it out of the car and the nav is accurate.

I have a W200 in my xB and a W205 in my Tundra...The W205 has updated software and menu selections...Better layout and better function. I will be upgrading my W200 to a W205 as soon as I can.

first off ask yourself what is your price range. then ask yourself if you REALLY want the navigation or not. like i told you in your other post i got a w200 and for kicks cause i was bored i installed the blackbird. i think its nifty but i have a ipod and navigation wire hanging around
