Default My mini iPod is now hardwired to my tC Stereo

Hello Friends

For those of you up there who would like to hardwire your Ipod’s to the factory sound system on Scion tC, I just want to reconfirm that NEO iON Does the job very well, and it’s true it is a bit pricey 189$ + 16$ the harness they sell it also. http://www.mp3yourcar.com/
Don’t believe on what the dealer will tell you or anyone else, it does the job very well. You can say goodbye to that stupid FM transmitter or FM modulator Works right out of the box, excellent cd sound quality, you can switch tracks and from the cd player and it will charge your iPod even when you’re out of the car with ignition off. You can change tracks as well from the iPod, al other functions will work but not the volume. You can notice a little volume difference between cd and iPod but the quality is great, no noise when the car is running because the will send you a filter that goes between the iPod and module.
The hardest part is removing the center console mask, takes about 3 min, no screws so be careful with the clippers, so you won’t damage it. Because I did not know how to do this, I went to the dealer so they can remove it for me (40$), Yeah I know I was dum’ but I learned how to do it now. Sorry I don’t have the pictures.

Good Luck

RCA inputs for any Pioneer stereo capable of accepting the Pioneer IP bus accessories are $25 from Pioneer. I'd rather pay $300 for a decent Pioneer stereo and RCA input adapter than spend almost 2/3 that much on something that will let me do the same thing through my stock deck, which will provide much less power, flexibility, and will sound much worse.

What's wrong with MP3 cds? They cost like 20 cents and hold 150 songs each? Oh well... I'll stick to my CD thing I guess...

Some of us have iPods anyway, we like em for other uses too (gym, work, studying and carrying computer files) and it's easier to load new music on the iPod than to make new MP3 CDs.

I haven't been rushing to hook up my iPod in my car because the CDs work fine (except the stock hu doesn't read the ID3 tags), but I want to eventually...no sense having the iPod if I'm not getting full use out of it.

That iCruize looks like a good idea. I wish more car manufactuers were like BMW and had factory hookups for the iPod. I'll definately look into that Monster setup since it will make use of the SatRadio, and I have no desire to go with the SatRadio.

Yeah, I am getting it like as soon as it comes out. Hmm...maybe I can con my parents into getting it for me for Christmas, lol. If not, I will just have to wait for my next paycheck. Once I have it installed, I will post here and tell you guys if it works well or not. It is made my Monster though, so I am pretty sure it will be good.

Hey guys!

I never said Neo iON is the best ideea for iPod...is very well overpriced but does the job! I'm sure we will have more options soon for a lot less money.

hardwired..?

So that means you can't take it out and replace certain songs that will (with time) grow old and annoying...??

yes you can, but instead of using a little cable that sticks out the front it is mounted in the back all nice and neat and stuff, and cant just be yanked out
you can however take the iPot or other mp3 player out because it is only attached to an audio plug

sorry man, sounds like you got ___-raped, I know a bunch of engineering techies that would have done it in 30 mins for $20.

Wow! Including the kit? (Neo iON is the brand name of the kit.)
