Default TRD brake pads

http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...1&parts_id=715

has anyone switched off to the TRD brake pad setup? $45 for pads is pretty decent (I used to pay around 90 for a front or rear set for the porsche, from either pagid or hawk) and just wondering if there are any opinions on the TRD's vs stock.

If I could increase stoping power by 10-15% that would be pretty impressive, and would be the inbetween to the BBK kits (from stoptech, trd, baer, wilwood or brembo).
After being boosted, id like to add just a bit more safety as far as stoping power goes, but I dont think I have the need for a BBK just yet.

Also, i did see someone on here had a TRD BBK and I think it ran around 2k for everything.. I cant find a part # for those, were they for the celi?

If anyone is using high performance pads, what are you using and how do you like them? The one thing I didnt like when I went to high performance pads for my 944 w/ brembo's was the squel.. no matter what, they would eeeeeekkkkkk the whole time.

high performance pads squeak, especially in the cold, it is pretty much a given, and more brake dust too.

and high performance brake pads are nice, but another way to really reduce your stopping distance are better tires, because you can have the greatest big brake kit anybody could make, but sucky tires will mean football fields of stopping distance.

as for me, i love my axxis ultimate pads and powerslot rotors. sure, they squeak in the winter, but they work great.

first, the brakes are the same from 05 to 08, so it is literally IMPOSSIBLE for them to discontinue it for a single tc model year.

second, SO WHAT! they aren't anything special. there are countless other choices for high performance brake pads. trd not making them doesn't bother me at all.

i can understand your response. this is not a personal choice problem that i'm dealing with. i'm in club SCINERGY GA ATL sponsored by marietta toyota. this means parts r cheaper. so when it takes damn near 2 months for these pads to come in, and i call to find out y, and thats what they tell me, i will ask on SL to make sure.
