Im sure many people on here have them. I've emailed 7 companies about getting one and only 2 responded back to me. One of them said they dont make them for Scion Tc's and the other one wanted $750 for a 250A alt, which imo, is pretty damn high.
So to my question, I'm looking for a 250A-300A alt. Who here has one that high and where/who did you get it from?

did Iraggi tell you $750? he told me $500 when i asked 2-3 months ago.. (i still thought that was too much as i paid $150 for the 250amp alt in my suburban.)

 

iraggi never responded. but i sent him another one on a different email address a couple hours ago. im sure he'll reply this time around.

but Daves DC Electric quoted me $750 for a 250A alt. $500 isnt too bad. dont get me wrong it isnt great but who am i to decide what the price should be.

 

What kind of system do you plan on running? Just curious.

 

havent decided on any subs or amps or anything yet. i know it will be in the 2.5k-3.5krms area.

 

you could always add more batteries. i mean it doesnt fix your alt prob but you have more power.

 

im gonna also put the biggest kinitek battery i can find under the hood.

 

I got in touch with Dom today. Prices are fair, probably will be buying one within the next week or two.

honestly, im not sure how many batterys ill put in. ill start off with one under the hood and the new alt and go from there.

 

this topic is halarious to me because everyone with input is under 20 year old... check my stats, i am running 2k watts in my system with no modification to the alternator, optima battery with the only other major draw coming from my 50watt hid headlights... absolutely no problem with dimming headlight etc. , my sytem runs at an average of 13.5 volts with the system all the way up in idle

 

is there something wrong with input from under 20 years old

 

x2 whats age have to do with anything? i run 2000watts rms with hids, strobes, neons, leds, rice lights. at idle in park i run a 12.6 with no dimming. at speeds i run a 13.4. i would like to get a bigger alt to get up to 14 at speed and closer to 13 at idle. i have done the big 3 with 0awg wire and have a red top.

im still lost about the age... what about that one chick on here that knows more about stereos on this site then most, shes young... (not sure how young.)

 

well x3 on the whole age thing. apparently you have to be 20 to know anythng about electrical systems......

 

Yes may be fine now but you are pushing your system way past its intended capacity. So when your alternater goes to ****, then what? And I checked out your system and its pushing nowhere near 2000 RMS

 

i'm 19 and i know a few things about cars and stereos. but i'm not smart i guess. o well, that's too bad.

I would love to get a HO alt. I looked into it, and the only thing anyone offered was a rewind. There is no way I was paying the $500 I was quoted for a rewind.

If you find a decent price, see if they would be willing to drop the price a tad, if you could get them multiple sales.
