Default Sirius for the base stock pioneer system?

So im debating if i should go ahead and just by the sirius tuner/antenna for the stock radio. Anyone purchase this after they already purchased thier cars? I was quoted like 300 bux for that damn add on... With that money i can put that toward an double-din 7" screen with sat tuner later.... What do you guys think?

I would check out www.TSS-RADIO.com The guy that runs it, Taylor, is on another forum i frequent and they are the go-to place for Sirius stuff. To me, Sirius is much more useful than a screen. I find myself listening at home more than watching TV even.

Ouch..... Thats without install too... I love sirius, but hate having a separate head unit to have sirius. Had the sportster in my old car for 3 years, started to hate it because it wasn't in the dash.

I have an S50 portable. It has a lot more features than the in-dash units. It's mounted in the little pencil cup thing in the dash and stays out of the way nicely. But I listen to it constantly. Howard in the morning and while I'm at work in portable mode and then Bubba The Love Sponge at night and weekends since it records. If it was in the dash, I'd need multiple units.

I had a Sportster for a year and got annoyed with the sound quality while driving. I held-out but finally caved. I bought the "official" xB Sirius tuner and kit from sparks for about $250, and I have NO regrets. It took about an hour to install, and the difference in sound is like night and day.

Yes, it's expensive, but it is worth it to listen to Howard & BTLS every day - PLUS the music channels are 100x better in "real" sound. Get it.

With an aftermarket head unit, I had sirius in my old car for under $300 (not including install but that was the cost of head unit and sirius tuner, and I did the install myself)

here is an example:

Clarion DXZ475MP - $99
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...DXZ475&tp=5684

Clarion Sirius Tuner - $99
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CbhWtGc...x?i=700SIRCLAR

so basically for $200 you will have a better HU, and it will have sirius (and with the clarion type, you don't have to tap in any power, it gets it through the cable from the head unit)
