Default My dash went warped over the past few weeks.. what to do?

hey whats up guys, i got my car in oct. and i notice the other day that my dash on the passenger side dash its pretty warped.. i only noticed it though when i went to wipe it down to clean it..... now i know it definitely wasn't there when i bought the car and the weather around here isn't hot so i doubt it was from the heat of the sun.. so that makes me believe its from having my heat on over the past few weeks.. but i don't really like it or keep it very hot in my car so idk

should i call up my dealership and see if i can get this fixed by warranty? can this even be fixed????

has anyone else out there dealt with this?

When you say warped, do you mean it's bubbling up? Or making weird indentations? If so it's not an uncommon problem for some tC's. Take your car to the dealership and it should be covered under the warranty. I have seen quite a few of these. This same problem is beginning to happen to my friends dash as well.

yeah i noticed this on my friends the other week as well and went and checked mine after i seen hers and mine had no problems ... then the other day i was cleaning off my dash low and behold the same thing as hers .. i was like wtf

to me i would call it indented ... seems like its around an area that would have a air bag in it or something because it seems to be indented in a straight linem idk how to explain it. ill try and get pics up tomorrow if i get a chance

thanks for your input FLEA

so has anyone else had this happen and then got it covered by warranty ?

If the dealer asks.....you use a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust from the dash. If you tell them you use a protectant like Armor All, they might try to pin it on you.

Get pictures up when you can.

I think this is due to the thinner plastic around the airbag area so it can deploy easily. I noticed it on my tc also before I traded it in. I also had a small bubble forming in the middle above the dual vents. I have also noticed this on almost every car that has a "hidden" airbag on the passenger side instead of having a separate plastic piece that pops up.

Hmm I've seen a few isolated incidents of this happening-- it is covered under warranty though and your dash will get replaced- If for some reason the dealer says otherwise, give Scion a call-- more than likely it will be replaced =)

Even if you are out of the 3 years/ 36,000 mile warranty, Scion will still look into replacing it for you under warranty so give Scion a call

^^^ Oh snaps 70,000 miles!!! Wow, on an 06?? Hmm, well considering that its out of comprehensive and powertrain warranty...it would really depend on your service history (like if you service at scion dealerships) and your loyalty to the Toyota/Scion brand-- But it most likely wouldn't be full coverage, just partial =/
