I don't think I've seen a shaved box before. hmmm.. yes I have, but not a shaved xB that wasn't a photoshop. I can't wait to see it. When you get to NJ, depending on WHERE, I might have to make a road trip :)

I was going to do the rear suicide doors but due to the rear fender being 3 inches from the jam its to much of a paint in the ___ to make a bolt on it. It involves alot of fabrication brackets inside of the door jam. Also meansing some panels would need to be cut.

I would do a crooked license box but illegal in my state. :\

20s would have went on for trial fit today but dumbasses sent me 12mm x1.25 lugs..
awsome!

Anything else you guys want to see done? Let me know I might just do it.

I didn't think there was enuff metal to do suicide doors in the back. I had a couple metal fabricator/car customizers look at it, and he told me there was enuff metal or structural integrity w/o getting out of hand, by adding it. I know that where there's a will, there's a way. But I guess not on my xB.

hotbox05
11-04-2004, 01:31 AM
you can do it but the hinge needs a slider on the part that attaches to the door or else it will bind. if i had the materials and another car to drive around id be knee deep in suicide right now.

The main problem with the doors in you can only put hindges in the 12"s of space between the fender and the window. It has to be perfectly level and parallel or else wont work right.

So there's also a popper for the hatch then?

are you gonna clean up the edges of the doors too?
(the edges of the doors seem to taper off, its not as straight and true as it could be)
(don't know if all our cars are like that but mine is)

I started on that one today and didnt really like where it was going. I might continue on it but it was such I tight space I had to cut out all the metal support around the panel just so I could physically see the fuel pipe to start working with it.

The other problem is that the taillight goes into the trunk jam. I would have to cut the taillight and dont really want to leave it open for moisture to get into it.

But we shall see I havent given up on it yet.

I might just put it on the inside of the trunk so I have to open the trunk everytime I fill my gas tank up :) Then jstu fiberglass around it and throw some subs in there with the gas cap in the center.

Yea I know the whole fuel filler/taillight area is TIGHT to say the least... ide do it whith building a sub enclosure or somthing so I had room to rout the pipe outside of the normal side pannel.. what would be inside of the rear area..also I found using Boat fuel filler hose to be a god send when trying to rout a remote filler.. definatly keep us posted on the mods...

Love that one, then loan it to your friend and tell them it needs fuel and videotape them walking around the car looking for the gascap...

Shave the tails and put in Caddy lights or LED's. Another thing I think would be sweet is if the liftgate glass and the body seperated like the 92-95 Civic hatch's. The liftgate glass would go up and the body would go down like a tailgate. Then I would shave the markers in the bumpers and fenders.

Regarding the gas cap in the rear gate jamb --

Oh yeah, like it would be really sweet to fill the interior with gas fumes at every fill up. And, in the unfortunate event you get rearended, it's good to have gas shooting out the filler and into the passenger compartment, like a Pinto.

there's a bunch of photos of that xb around JOE - I think there was a feature in MiniTruckin about a year or so ago too. Someone will chime in with the name of it - "green xb" in google will take you far
