You do not need the tie downs to install this. IMO this is the best diversion panel available for the tC!

purpled_out_tC
12-10-2007, 11:02 PM
why do you think is the best?? and what are the tie downs for if we don't need them??

lil_will, where in AZ are you stationed?? my roommate went to school out there?? (that BNOC class thingy--US NAVY here so excuse the spelling on that)

lil_will
12-10-2007, 11:24 PM
The fitment is fanstatic. I had issues with my last diversion panel. Those tie-downs just replace your stock tie-downs.

I am stationed at Ft. Huachuca. So, your roommate is MI?

This is probably the best panel on the market for the tC. Here are a few reasons why...

1. This panel is an exact fit, drop in panel, and requires no modification of any kind.
2. Unlike some of the other units, this panel is a ONE piece panel.
3. This panel has a cut out to allow your stock hood prop to lay down without rubbing on the panel.
4. This panel is constructed of stainless steel and will not warp or bend.
5. You can buy this panel from NST :P

We have sold many of these panels over the past few months, everyone seems to love them and they are very popular items at the shows and expos we attend.

Thanks again everyone, good luck and have fun with your projects!

so i'm guessing you don't need the tie downs??

The tie downs are not absolutely necessary, your OEM tie down pieces will work just fine. The DME tie downs are designed to finish off the custom look.

That is a great idea, unfortunately I can not reduce the price on these pieces as I do not make the price on them, and my margins are not very high.

Here are a few things you can consider though...

1. Is the Greddy panel a one piece unit? Is it stainless steel?
2. Does the Greddy panel have a hole cut in it so that your hood prop does not rattle?
3. Does Greddy have an account here on SL to provide you customer service?
4. Does Greddy have their president on AOL Instant Messenger waiting to help you?
5. Does Greddy sponsor tC events such as ScionExpo, ScionInvasion, etc?

We believe the DME Panel is the best panel on the market, at the best price, and sold by one of the most well respected and most dedicated companies to the Scion scene.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the bent panel. We have shipped many of these pieces using the same shipping method, USPS Priority Mail, and we have never had this problem. I have definitely taken your comments into account and will try to improve on packaging and shipping in the future.

Please feel free to return the product that was damaged by the shipping company and we would be happy to replace it for you.

7... Not very classy to make such a comment (#6).

How can anyone possibly make a claim that we meant to ship a defective item? Or that we wanted this to happen?

Everything I posted further up is verifiable fact and many others can vouch for its accuracy.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped and supported our products, we certainly do appreciate it.

SciontCya
03-17-2008, 04:07 AM
Look, I'm sure you're a nice guy.
I'm sure they make a good product.
But to cheese out on packaging and have parts damaged sucks for buyers and you'll lose money too.
If you put yourself out there being great - and maybe you are - expect to get some grief for such a (frank, sorry) dumb mistake.
I hope you fix this, and I am still more than willing to try one - as long as I see others that don't get damaged goods.

Like I stated above... we have shipped many of these panels (20+ pieces) using the exact same shipping method, USPS Priority Mail, over the past few months and we have never had any problems. This is the first time I have heard of such an issue.

As I stated above, we would be more than happy to look into any potential problem with the current shipping method (99% positive feedback so far) and improve if necessary.

NST is very very very commited to excellence.

SciontCya
03-17-2008, 04:16 AM
Cool, glad to hear that.
As you know, mistakes in the internet age are deadly.
Only trying to help you get this fixed - it's that important.
Starting out is tough, and a mistake can ruin a small company.
Plus, there's NOTHING worse than opening a package and having damaged goods.
My wife ordered a multi-thousand dollar lamp that got broken in shipping because it was packed badly.
The bummer was not the money - it was insured - but the over 100-year old lamp was irreplaceable.

I will be buying a panel from you in two weeks, unless more folks report damaged parts.

Not a brooha.
People want and need to know when these things happen, and yes, if a sponsor takes care of it's customers, it's good for them in the longrun.
Why do you think the buyer/seller threads exist?

NonStopTuning
03-17-2008, 06:10 AM
Thank you for the kind words grymson, we certainly do appreciate it.

As you said, it must have been a fluke during shipping. We have shipped many of these over the past several months and no one has received a damaged piece so far. Even still, I will take some measures to make sure this never happens again, no matter what USPS does with the package!

Hopefully some of the others who have ordered these pieces from us will speak up with their experiences. I would love to hear from more people and see more pics posted.

Why personalize?
There have been MANY people who have been ripped-off on SL.
Both from vendors AND individuals.
Questioning is not only OK, it's good.
If someone is top-shelf, there's no worries.

Don't tell people not to question when their money is involved.
As soon as I see a pic that's decent, I will order.
I didn't come in here to badmouth anyone - only to make sure the product and company is on the up-and-up.

You are right. Many people have been ripped off but I have not heard one bad thing about NST. I have no problem with you trying to make sure they are on the "up-and-up" but to flat out insinuate that they are shipping bad products is just uncalled for. I never told anybody to "not question" anything. I was simply referring to the fact that your post was out of line!

We can agree to disagree.
Few posts, and a damaged item was not a good start.
As I said, if someone is going to knock another company (Greddy) then you better be golden.
I was replying to the damaged goods post.
I'll make good on my offer to buy once I see more pix.
I'm just picky, and I want more to go by.
All good.

I see where you are coming from but you went about it all wrong. You think Greddy has never shipped an item that has been damaged in transit? You talk about NST having only a few posts on here... how many posts does Greddy have?! I have met the guys from NST and they are stand up guys.

NonStopTuning
03-25-2008, 01:26 AM
NST has been building products for the Scion line of cars since Jan 2005. You will not see a ton of posts from me because I do not come to the forums to reply with things like "bump" or "to the top" or "more."

You will find me answering technical questions about NST Pulley Kits, NST Bushings, NST SSKs, etc.

You will NOT find any threads, posts, or comments about anyone ever being ripped off by NST.
Thousands of comments about NST, and they have all been positive since 2005.

Please give us the courtesy and do not associate our name with others who have "ripped off" or have "been ripped off" by other companies. It is not fair to talk about other people and what has happened with other companies, and other brands, in our thread. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for the nice comments guys. Unfortunately we can not offer a GB at this time. Our margins are pretty low on this piece and we already offer a lower price than MSRP.

But even at full price, this is cheaper than the other panels, and as most of you have pointed out the quality and features are superior to the competition.

I just put my order in!!! :D

I got the ETD, panel, panel tie downs, Gates belt(06') and a 65mm s/c pulley! I was actually interested in a 10.5psi pulley but you didn't have one listed on your site. If there's any way I can get one of those instead of the 9.5psi please let me know...

Thanks again and I'm SO STOKED to get all these great parts!

Just an FYI.
I finally received the diversion panel via usps. Problem was it was bent in the middle. Pretty badly.

I was pretty ____ed offed, but after thinking about it. I took matters into my own hands. I wrapped it in cloth and took a hammer to it. After about an hour. It looks like it should.

Took off the sticky protective wrapper, cleaned it up, and it looks absolutely great. Quality is top-notch.

Hi guys,

First, thank you for your interest in our site and products, we appreciate it.

We try to keep our website's availability list updated with our current inventory, and generally have everything up to date. Unfortunately we sometimes receive an influx of orders, and the site may be off by a day or two.

You can ALWAYS call us or look for us on AIM prior to placing your order to confirm availability, and I would be more than happy to chat with you personally. Phone: 281-917-0221. AIM: NSTonAIM. Both contact options are listed on our website.

Furthermore, you received notices on your packing slips (your receipts sent to you in your boxes) that stated that your radiator tie down pieces were on back-order. And these slips also listed an ETA for when these pieces are scheduled to ship out to you. Please take a look at your slips, call us, or look for us on AIM before posting negative comments here.

We have a large order in route to us from DME as I type this, and will have more of these items in stock for future sales. Many many many vendors take orders from you and then have suppliers fill the order after they take your money... As far as I know, we are one of the VERY FEW retailers that actually keep these DME pieces IN STOCK frequently and ship out DIRECTLY to you, our valued customers.

Again, please feel free to contact me by phone or AIM should you ever have any questions. I would be more than happy to chat with each and everyone of you.

Good luck and have fun with all your projects everyone!
