Default Scion Factory Alarm Systems

I'm a little confused. I think I bought the wrong alarm.

Scion seems to have a few security systems available for the tC:

00016-21910 ... Keyless Upgrade Security [05-08]
08586-21810 ... Security (V5) [05-06]
PT398-21070 ... Security (V5) [07-08]

I'm looking at the description and the Security V5 has 13 more pages than the Keyless Upgrade Security. The descriptions are very similar. Just trying to see if it's worth the extra 13 pages and getting the V5 system. Can anyone provide some reviews or if someone with experience with the 2 can explain what the differences are? Thanks.

its not worth it to buy a scion alarm period. they are over priced and dont work well.

overpriced!? i got mine for less than $116 and im installing it myself. i got that along with wheel locks so i think i should be ok.

and just for reference, i found out the difference between the two alarms. the V5 (RS3200 Plus) system is the national toyota alarm for the tc and the Upgrade system is the southeast toyota distributors alarm.

they do the exact same thing except the V5 has rolling code protection, interior/exterior light operation, and starter disable. for the trouble that it's worth having to take apart the whole interior to wire up the harness and the extra $139.47, i'm sticking with the southeast keyless upgrade.

hey there.. just wanted to chime in and say that scion security sux ___. *yesterday* i woke up to my alarm going off. by the time it went off, all four wheels were come as was my amp in the back. mind you, they had already broken my rear passenger window (xB) to get into the car and use my jack to steal my wheels.

still not sure what, exactly caused the alarm to go off, but it certainly wasn't jacking the car up or breaking a window.

kinda ____ed at toyota/scion for having such a sh*t system.
