my wife wants a remote starter for her new xD, but I know she'll string me up if I go drop what it costs to get it done at the dealer. Anyone put a remote starter in the xD (is it any different than the older A's and B's?) and can anyone recommend a good one? I'm looking on the cheapER side but obviously dont want to cheap out on the obvious features you want in a starter. Visual confirmation, antigrinding, etc.
TIA for any input!

Uhm I know of after market alarm systems with remote start capability are out there, and they're better than the stock alarm. I honestly keep forgetting the alarm name(s) but if you browse the forum, it should pop up :)

DEI makes reputable brands like Clifford, Viper etc...
I just put one on my 1st gen xb.
It should be a very similar install, I had mine done.
Do the new xD's have a chip in the key? If so, there are a few different extra things the installer will need to get, meaning a little more $$$.
I traded out work with mine. Its suppose to be something like $600 installed from a dealer, but it didnt cost me very much out of pocket.
I got the Clifford Matrix 50.5x, it's suppose to have a 1 mile 2 way comunication range.
