squirrel 11-02-2004, 11:48 PM Yup, I recommend Goldline springs also, unless you're getting coilovers. If you're going to get sway bars, there is the Hotchkis set that ioncludes both front and rear, and there is also the Progress rear bar, for more aggressive driving. Most go with the Hotchkis set-up, and will add the Progress bar at a later time.
fusionscion 11-03-2004, 12:03 AM so goldline is the best hands down im assuming..... so does anybody know where ican get a set for cheap?
also anybody know bout the progressive rear sway, i think ill add the hotckis later, maybe jsut cuz im backwards.....p
thanks for all your help i appreciate it.... also to squirrel, love dat setup wit da rear center exit exhaust, beary nice

The Hotchkis bars will bring it up to par and keep it pretty neutral, eliminating most of the handling problems. If you want to get aggressive and start doing some autocrossing, then add the Progress rear bar later.
I'm on TEIN coilovers and Hotchkis sway bars. I also have the TRD strut tower brace. I originally had Spy springs, but if Goldlines were available over a year ago, I would have gotten those.
PM Alex (Bluebox) and see if he knows the best place to get Goldlines. Tell him squirrel sent you.
Thanks for the props.

This would be the set-up I would run if I didn't have the cash for TEIN coilovers and Hotchkis bars. Simple, yet very effective. Most front wheel drive cars usually only need an add-on rear sway bar. If the Goldlines were out at the time I bought my Spys, I would have gotten the Goldlines.
if that rear bar were any larger...a larger front swaybar would absolutely be needed. Also if the front sway were substantially bigger then the stock front...the rear bar would have to be even larger as well. this setup is pretty neutral
hey i want to drop my lava box, and stiffen everything up,
also what springs are the best for the buck....
To really help with stiffening up the body roll and have a comfortable ride, I would highly recomend the RS*R springs. Great ride , very low body roll and still put you at a 2in drop stance. :D
available at www.precisionmuffler.com :D
just added this a few minutes ago. i'll drive the car around after the rain stops

That dosen't do anything. I have the same brace on my XB. It's more for looks than and not performance :( You're not going to feel any difference in handling.

Yup, strut tower braces on the xB is more for looks. Look how close the strut towers are to the firewall, practically welded to it. There isn't going to be hardly any flex there. At least not enuff to be noticable the way we drive it.
now who said i was going to keep it this way? i'm welding bars from that DC to the front corners or maybe a little lower. I'm using it to tie it all together. the little 10mm bolts they use to attach the upper radiator support is a joke. for 90bucks its strong and did alot of work for me
think of something like this...sorta

btw...has anyone made a masterbrake cylinder bracing bracket yet?
something like this

vid of how a master cylinder flexes. some like this mod...some don't. pedal becomes stiffer like using metal braided brake lines

Did you change the shocks too? I'd like to do just springs as long as the ride doesn't suffer.
with the RS*Rs you don't have to worry about the struts messing up. They will wear as normally with the stock springs. :) RS*R is the way to go, especially with a tC sway bar!!
