Holy crap! Kelly blue book finally put our beloved xB into thier system to come up with used xB retail values. My jaw dropped when a 2004 xB with a MT and 13k has an reatail value of $15,750 !!!
Hello! thats a $1500 GAIN in value!!!!
YES!!! this looks like good news in the future....And just think, Mine is a 2005, So if this keeps up hmmm just image.
Well We all know this wont keep up- eventually it will depriciate in value- but how many people do you know buy a new car, drive it around for a year, and its still worth the same or more than what they paid for it!!

My zip code sucks! '04 xB, AT, w/16300 miles, "excellent" condition= $13,400 (Private party sale is $13,930) :x I still owe less than the aforementioned worth 8) . Also the manual tranny value is lower than automatic. :DIt will be different from zip code to zip code. The same specs above but using 90210 (Beverly Hills): $14,420 :x :x :x

Finally! I bought mine used last month. It would of been helpful then. But not to worry. I paid just under private party value (froma dealership). Not counting that my xB is a RS1. That option isn't listed on kbb. :D

Most dealers don't use KBB when estimating your trade-in. I forgot which one they use. :?

NADA is what most dealers use I think.

I think dealers just make up their own ridiculous numbers. Then they say okay well give you more but you're twisting our arms. Then they laugh while your not looking cause they just stole your car and are going to resell it for almost double what they gave you.
Kbb and other values are good for those who want to sell their cars own their own.

Dealers use wholesale auctions values as the going.
While trading in my navigator KBB said it was worth $23k trade-in whiile NADA said $32k trade-in. Now how the F is the consumer suppose to know.

Dealers on the East Coast will use Galves. Lop off $5000 from a KBB, Nada or Edmunds trade-in value and that's the Galves value.
we are usually very close to KBB. somewhere in between Good and Fair condition as far as trade in's go.

Trade it in at CarMax. They buy cars at close to KBB good/excellent value. Had a 48K mile '01 Camry 4-cyl, dented front bumper, and blemishes, KBB and NADA stated $10,500. CarMax appraised it at $10,000. :D
