I am looking at new brake pads, what have you guys tried that have or haven't worked.

I am looking strongly at EBC Green, maybe ULtimax.

I have heard the Hawks are ok but they squeal.

I am a ways away from the drilled/slotted rotors prive wise so this is for stock rotors.

 

I've used greenstuff pads before but not on an xB. They worked nice on my full sized 3 ton van tho so the should be great on an xB.

 

Did they work as good as they were supposed to-quick initial bite, etc?

 

Oh yeah, They come with that special abrasive coating that roughs up the rotor to get good brakes right from the get go. I got some good miles outta them too. Quiet also. Never heard a squeal outta them.

try out endless brake pads. they several different series pads and also project mu pads. i've ran both on other cars and love em! =)

 

Ceramics, baby.
They'll put you right through the windshield!
(I've found they work best with drilled or slotted rotors)

 

can anyone recomend a drilld/slotted rotor that is the same as stock and pads that fit in the stock calibers?

 

When my pads eventually wear out, I'm sticking with the OEM pads!

 

Here is my recommendations.
You want rotors that are slotted and dimpled. Not drilled cause they tend to develope cracks. For pads either green stuff EBCs or Hawk ceramics will do nicely. They have the pads made for the xB direct oem replacement applications.
