There are two awesome product videos for each.

BFG's are made by Michelin. Great work if you ask me. Looks like the GForce Sport AS would be a great tire for those of you living in mild winter states looking for a year round performance tire
What’s your .02?

^^ okay it's basically a paid commercial. I've seen this guy before on speed channel. It's nothing but a spiffed up infomercial. Thanks for the link though, i wonder what the real drivers/owners of these tires think of them.
The tires do look good, and am interested to know what people who actually have them think.

I'll be interested to read the consumer reports as well. The AS is a pretty cool concept. We get a lot of people looking for an AS that will do well for them in the winter. They don't want or really need a full winter tire. Conventional AS's tend to get harder as the temperature drops which makes the tire loose traction. With these tires having three different rubber compounds, one for performance, one for rain and one for Snow, I am very interested to see what people think when they put them to the test. I'd like to feel it for myself too.
And there aren't that many true A/S (all-seaon) tires out there in the tC's size. Not for an ultra-high performance, W-rated tire either. The proxes4 are decent in snow, I just wish they had more snow performace than they do. I would like something that doesn't trade dry/wet traction, handling, sporty feel just for snow traction as some tires do out there.
I hope that this is a sign that other tire makers will come out with more true a/s tires, instead of just marginal snow coverage. I sometimes think the tire makers have removed decent/good snow performance from tires so they can sell more snow tires. hmmm.. marketing, gee there's an idea! lol

All season tires are really meant to cover as wide of a weather range as possible and performance, has for the most part, been secondary. Asking a performance tire to be great at everything is like asking an Olympic sprinter to be great at Sprinting, Swimming , Wrestling and weightlifting. Properties in a tire that make it great for dry performance are terrible for wet conditions and even worse for snow. Properties in a tire that make it great for the snow and wet conditions make them a weak performance tire. So far there hasn't been a truly impressive solution. There are a few manufactures that are building multi compound AS tires like this one. They combine the material technology with an engineered tread design that is different for each tire sections. This adds costs so an affordable solution is one compound that is usually mixed and doesn't usually contain snow compounds (due to the weak performance properties) combined with a highly engineered tread pattern. This is how most AS tires come out. Most Tri-Athletes or Quad-Athletes, if you will, like the are in training.

That is the optimal /ultimate way to set up your tire gripage year round , considering tires are basically your #1 safety/performance component you can do to any vehicle, bar none!

True.
However, tires wear anyways.. and if you can have an opportunity at a nice set of wheels + good tires for the job- then jump on it! Also, that way you wont be going through tires every 3-4 years(even if you drive alot) ... it will extend things out into longer intervals of 5-6 years that two sets of wheels will last(just do proper rotations, and kick on the winter tires for however long you need them, 4-6 months).

That is a very good point, I am glad you bring it up. Thinking like this can save you a lot of money especially when there are truely great sales. I know many of the SL members took advantage of some awesome savings in October and again in early Dec. I spoke with many people who bought multiple sets to your exact point. As long as we sponsor SL, members will be kept informed for the best deals.
FYI Anyone looking to purchase a set of Michelins or BFG Tires: Tonight at Midnight there will be a $50.00 rebate on any 4 Michelin or BFG tires (except the Precept). The Rebate is a Mail in rebate and should be available for download on our site tonight at Midnight.
