I have a 2005 Scion xB with the 6 speaker Pioneer system.

Does anyone know the the dimensions of the two Top Dash Speakers?

There's a post here on it somewhere, along with some tips on replacements, etc. Run a search and see what turns up...

I do believe it is a 3 1/2 inch "tweeter" you can fit a 4 inch in there with a little modification of the tabs on the speaker.

Gothbox is correct....... You can fit most 4" speakers by bending or cutting off two of the mounting tabs.

Is changing those little speakers really worthwhile? I mean, is it a difference you can actually hear?
I'm interested in trying it (heck I'm up for most ANY mod!), and was wondering if this was worth the time or not.

If it's the tweeter speaker in a component set then yes, it's worth it. I wouldn't waste time with separate speakers, i'd go for a component set and do it right.

I thought for a tweeter to work right is must be angled at the listener...I could be wrong. But if this is the case would it still sound good pointing straight up?

You're right, tweeters and their high frequency sounds are very "directional" speakers, but (at least in the old days!) most installers usually feel that bouncing them off the windshield toward the passenger works pretty well.
