Default new horn

i am looking at getting a truck type horn and was wondering if 16 amps is too much draw?

i figured if i had engine running when using it, there should be no problem...

You will need to use a relay off of your factory horn wire to pull power from the battery (the 12 volt wire under the dash is only rated at 30 amps and it needs alot of that while the car is running). You will also need heavy gauge wire running to the battery, probably 12ga or larger. I don't know what the amperage rating is on the factory alternator but I assume it isn't much. This may cause your lights to dim when you activate your horn if it is really pulling that many amps.

Nooooooo the alternator is 90 amps the horn is powered through a relay directly from the battery with a separate inline fuse and there should be no problem. I plan on adding my air horns over the next few weeks myself FINALLY! I bought them for my first car back in the early 70's.

Yeah the longer the horn the deeper the sound . . . should have a slide and make it tuneable.

Lol!! Enough! My buddy has that exact kit underneath the bed of his s10. It's loud. Period. You can scare people from across the street with it. It's loud.
