I installed my Hotchkis springs about two weeks ago and for some reason, I think I botched up the fronts. I had a little trouble getting the fronts installed as I posted in another thread. Anyway, I made sure the top plate was keyed into the strut shaft and the parts were facing out as marked but I'm still not 100% positive things went in back properly. The car seems fine and rides fine but I have a nagging feeling that something isn't quite right. Maybe I need to get the alignment checked and I'm definately going to get some better shocks but for now I want to make sure I'm not causing any damage. Any comments?

I know how you feel. I had my Hotchkis Spring installed by professionals therefore they were able to somewhat keep the alignment close to what it was...But I would definitely take that bay for an alignment. As far as the installation is concern and you being afraid... i would double check everything just in case.... :D

I 2was nervous after my first spring install too. But, when I took it all apart and looked it was fine. I know what you mean though "is the arrow in the right place? Did the spring twist? What have I done and why is my boss looking at me like that?!"
Yup. I did learn though, that the top big nut wasn't supposed to be tight as I had made them and tightening it up too much is what caused the springs to rotate, etc.

Oh then, I think i'll take the car in for an alignment and see if they can pull the front struts and check them out for a decent price. I don't think i'll have time to do the struts again for a while.

My alignment actually got better when I installed the hotchkis springs. Go figure. There was a post a while back saying that if you lowered the control arm down to far you might have problems, maybe thats what happened to you. But your description is so vague it's like I don't even know if you think you think you have problem. You know? If you are having problems with alignment just saying so rather than saying you've got a feeling about somthing would make it easier to help you.
