Default Injen sri, 20% tint, no front license plates = bad day

So i start of the morning working on installing the Injen Cai when i realized i cant take of the bolts to the bumper because my car is lowered and i didnt feel like taking off the wheel also. So i installed the SRI which worked out great due to the instructions on scionlife and INjen. later when i recieve dr isostope cai mount is when i will install the cai.

The only thing that got me worried was that the tube to fit in the throttle bottle was sticking out and when i started the car the first time it didn't start fully which scared me. But, second time around it worked great and sounds awesome!

But had to hurry yup because i had to work at the GREAT Best buy....sigh..... but back to the point right when i enter the damn 60 freeway a high way patrol bike came up next to me and flashed his lights. Soon after i was hit with a fix it ticket for no license plates and tint. Am just glad he didn't open up the hood.

Anyways i dont want to go on talking and talking so am getting to my point does anyone know how much to remove the driver and passenger side window tint only? Cause i heard it was really really hard to take it off and i was directed to get it professional done. and by the way i dont know any cops to get it written off. thanks for reading my wonderful day!

to remove the tints its like $20-$30. not that much. if you do it yourself it's a PITA.

Call some shops.
I took mine off - about 4 hours of work.
I would have paid someone to do it.
Royal PITA
You need to do it when it's warm or inside with heat lamps.

tints are easy tickets

after I got a fine for my windows (first time offense too) I just didnt want the hassle and took the tint off my front windows and kept them off. Even then, if I had my front windows down, Id still get double takes from police thinking I still have front tint, so I took the rear side tint off too.

anyhow I took mine of myself as opposed to paying to have it removed. Its like peeling a sticker off slowly. I used windex and a razor blade. It just takes some time. I think the first window took me about an hour (first time Ive done this) second window took 20-30 minutes.

if its a good quality tint, it should come off in one piece, which makes removing it a piece of cake.

Mine was the best I could buy, still came off in multiple pieces.
Your car has to be in warm/hot weather, and you have to have some ammonia or vinegar and some black plastic to cover the windows to heat them.
It works fine, but I'd pay someone next time.

it's the law, and maybe if we were cops getting shot at and killed, we'd feel differently.
I got caught, paid the fine, and removed the tint.
Its illegal, so that's the chance I took.

I had the same ticket 2 yrs ago. Did mine in winter so it was cold. All i did was spray the window in ammonia (99 cent store) put plastic bags over it, then from the other side used a heat gun (blow dryer on high) to heat the other side and activate the ammonia vapors to loosen the adhesive. Took about 1.5 hrs total and it came out in one piece each side

A lot of places have deals such as "free removal if you get caught" and "half price replacement", but you can only take advantage of that if you got it installed at one of those places in the first place. I went back to the place where I got my tint installed and they did free removal and discounted replacement afterwards. It was only a couple of blocks from the courthouse too - talk about convenient!

Good alternative, but I think I'd just pay someone to remove it and save myself the hassle.

CALIFORNIA IS THE WORST!

I got a ticket for amplified system (200 dollars). It wasnt loud or anything. There was a biker cop behind me and right when my song hit the bass my system started shaking my car and he pulls me over and asks if I have an amplified system and I was like yea. Then he asked for my registration and all that bs.

Don't be surprised. Same thing happened to me. I got pulled over for tint and no plate at the same time. I lightened up the tint but I still ride without a plate. I haven't had any more trouble since then.

I have an Injen CAI but I wasn't worried about that. Cops never ask you to pop the hood unless your car looks heavily modified.

they can pull you over for anything practically as long as they have cause. i was pulled over for modify exhaust and no license plate. luckily i didnt get a ticket but got just a warning. what sucked was i just backed out of my drivway and drove past the first street and i got nailed. the cop asked where i was coming from and i pointed too my house LOL.
