Don't do it.... I have a friend with the TT stage 1, and his barely clears the stock hood... there is no way its gonna clear the reverse cowl.

It might work if you are getting the New style EL manifold. Todd has made a new EL mani that sits lower and is CF hood friendly. If I was you, I'd get in contact with Todd and talk to him about which manifold you want and check if the new style mani will work with the reverse cowl hood.

Yeah, the old mani, no way. I was considering gettin gthe seibon vs-II instead, but i understand that CF hoods have a fiberglass skeleton and it may melt. However, Todds new mani, he has labeled as CF hood safe!
No matter what, though, you can expect some fading EVENTUALLY from the heat. I think even rythmnsmoke is getting fading on his CF hood from his log style zpi mani.

I think carbon safe means there is enough clearance for a regular carbon hood. Not much room in there for decent sized turbos sadly. If you do go carbon make sure to apply some thermotec heat barrier underneath.

i asked todd about this too but i was looking at the basik and that Manifold isnt EL and looks to sit the turbo low as well so i should play nice with my Kaminari hood. the Log mani on my zpi did indeed heat up my hood and cause sum paint cracks underneath. sooooooo i put sum double sided tape and aluminum foil underthere. Bladow! everything does nicely.

I concur, but the fade is only in the corners of the hood, and not above the mani where you think it would be. So, a new coat on it, and it would be good as new.

It would fade over time even if the engine was stock just an FYI.

yes, the sun eats at the top of the hood and the heat from inside of the engine bay compared to the heat outside can effect fading and flexing to correct?

yeah.. its so frustrating... all of the actual parts ACTUALLY work. it's just the dumb emanage that's confusing me (the shop i'm at doesn't tune, just install) so i have to figure out the whole emanage thing myself, which shouldn't be too hard, but for some reason it's giving me a heck of a time. at the peak of my success at the shop today, the car actually started with the emanage connected but refused to idle, dying promptly after i started it. sooo... if i can compare jumper pics with brandon (java) or matt (olahalo) by wednesday morning and figure this whole thing out, i'll drive it home wednesday. if it's not the emanage settings themselves, then i have a bad dezod harness. i guess i'll find out wednesday!
