Default The Sky Is Falling!

So, last weekend, my wife and I were returning to Milwaukee from central Indiana. As we passed about twenty minutes south of Chicago on 90/94. we hear an incredibly loud **boom** on the roof of my xB. Now, there were very few other cars on the road, and we were on a stretch of road without bridges. We were just driving along and then, boom..

So, we exit the interstate and I discover a large 6" dent in the roof--near the back of the car. The edges of the dent are jagged, yet well defined, and there are two large impressions about 3" apart near the center that are about 1/2" deep.

After talking to my insurance (and finding out that I still have to pay my $500 deductible even for "acts of god"), I find out that this happens every once in a while--from ice falling off of landing planes.

Unacceptable! My poor xB went from having no scratches (or door dings or anything!) to having a huge dent on the roof.

Just needed to share...

Wow, that sucks man! It's probably from one of those planes flying into Midway! This does happen every now and then but not into cars. This happens to houses cause it's always on the local news...

something similar happened to me while passing the Airport here....just a loud BOOM on the roof...I jumped a foot!!looked around didn't see what caused it, fortunately I was driving my '89 Escort "beater" car and the paint and metal must be a lot tougher than our little boxes, just a small ding was all I found.

Talk about being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
