Just wanted to know if anyone has installed a ragtop on the xB.A friend of mine had an older (early 90's) S-Series Chevy Blazer that was lowered sitting on Porsche Alloys and had a ragtop installed, looked sweet :D He did some mods on the inner body for support because of basically cutting a huge hole in the roof, never had a prob with body sag, doors closed fine etc.I thought a nice ragtop with the Mercedes Canvas would really look _____en on an xB :D There are alot of sunroof companys (at least on the west coast)that do this kind of thing in all different lengths and widths, but I have yet to see one on an xB :(

Do a search for a convertible xB...it was done like 2 months ago. I'm not sure but it might be in the scion evolution forums seeing how it's a members car.

I saw an xB at Scion Exposed Philly with the sliding ragtop. It didnt look that bad, but it was on a black xb, so I dont know how it would look on any other colors.

I want one but none of that small slider crap... I want it as wide as it can go and from as far forward all the way back to just past the roof ridges.. I dont feel good about a nice water tight seal when putting one over the roof ridges...

Not exactly my style from the outside, but man it would be sweet to have that big opening from the inside. One of the guys from Strictly Scions out of the Merced area:

When I first got the xB I was thinking about getting one of those 72" rags from Street Beat. I talked to three different installation places that had nothing but bad things to say about Street Beat for daily driving. The consensus seemed to be that for show cars and trucks that aren't gonna be out in the rain or driving at highway speeds they were fine, but otherwise they should be avoided. Take this with a grain of salt as I have no personal experience with Street Beat products. Just passing on some info I got from more then one pro in the business.

I'll back up this statement with knowing from personal expierence that while they have some good products and some people have had nothing but sucess with them i know to many friends who have been screwed b/c of them.

Ah, it's not my style. I guess some peeps would dig it, but if I want a rag top, the nBc would be the way to go for me.

Webasto makes a sliding glass top, similar in size the the ragtop they offer. You won't find it on thier website yet (at least I couldn't), it's still a fairly new product. But there is an accessory dealer in Tucson that offers them. Something like 4sq feet of glass with 50% of it on a track to slide back over top the rear glass. I was going to get this done, but got rear ended and have to shift my funds around.

I can't give an exact figure because it has been a few months, but it was around the $1800 mark. The name of the shop is "The option" located in Tucson Az. If you want here's their # for a quote (520) 624-5988.

I think that the best way to get 2 opening glass, is to put 2 sunroofs one in the front and one in the back. it would be hotness

Here's a thread that talks about the webasto, http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25108&highlight=webasto

It's the Hollindia 900 I think, not on their site, they only show the "ragtop" but if you call a dealer you should find it does exist. 4.5sq ft of glass and the front slides over the rear. There's a pic or two here http://www.scionlife.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5573&sid=ce20e44f644935c7a1caeade3a881bb0

Someone had a really great pic from above on thier profile that was selling their Lava xB a while ago, I can't find it.
