I'm looking to buy this shifter **** and I want to know if someone have it. I want your impression, feeling, is it a good deal or not. I have the TWM short shifter installed.

Nice one, but I'm not sure... Probably not to confortable to leave your hand on when you driving....

 

I installed the TRD short shifter and it was terrible. It turned smooth shifts into hard quick shifts that tortured the synchros. And the TRD **** added torture to my hand. It was a tiny hard marble that was too small to grasp with fingers, or fit the palm. I removed the TRD after one day and sold it.
That pistol grip shifter looks like a real transmission killer. It lets you lock your fist into it and jam that shifter forward with all your strength. After a good burnout in first gear, it will force the transmission into second gear with no nonsense. After 20K miles, the transmission oil should have a satisfying golden sheen.
At the other extreme, I put in Redline MT90 when the car was still new, and a Gen II armrest. My hand hangs over the big stock ****, with only the fingertips touching it, and shifter glides between the gears with fingertip guidance.

the pistol grip weighs about a pound or so, and helps to get in the next gear with ease!

 

It's to high for me anyway. It's look good, but not in a Toyota Echo HB.

its true it is a bit high and i don't really like to reach for my shifter either... and a tad cold in the winters

 

Yes, like today in Montreal 0F or -18c. With the windshield it's -18F or -27c.

If your hand are wet a litle bit, your doomed. Hehehe

 

I have a TRD shiftknob.....but I have the bigger one that looks like stock, not that mickey mouse ball. I love mine, feels good in your hand and a very versitile **** like stock, has a nice leather finish with a nice stitch patern on it, and it has the TRD Japan logo on each side of the ****. With this **** I recommend flipping the shift boot trim ring over. Looks alot better and has a more snug fit so its not rattling around when driving.

 

It look like that the bigger one TRD **** is a better choice.

I had an aluminum silver **** with blue leds that felt nice, unless it was really hot or cold out or the sun shined on it. I had one that had a clear tube in it and when I got my trd shift kit, I used the trd shifter. Felt funny at first, but I got use to it and it shifts great. I have yet to grind a gear since the upgrade.

I'm with DriverXa. I have the larger TRD shift **** and I love it! It's almost identical to the HURST **** I had on my last car.

Next for me is the TWM short shifter like you have and I also want to get a bushing kit. Anyone have any suggestions for the best bushing kit?

I have the bushing kit too. It's stiff and noisy. Noisy like if your gear box will broke. Your directly on the car body without the robber one.

Bushing came from TwmPerformance too.

For the shiftknob I don't know what to do... Hummmm

 

metal shifter bushings on the tranny side is the best upgrade for my shifting needs that i ever made!!!

 

I have the TRD short shifer as well and I find myself switching back and forth between the TRD **** and the OEM one, I have found its easier to shift with the OEM one, but for some reason constantly switch em up!
