my husband was doing the cabin filter mod in his 05 and we were going to do it in mine as well since all the posts we've looked implied that there wasn't a filter in the cars. My 08 came with a filter and it doesn't have a tray to do this cheap mod.
Will have to figure out how to do the cheap mod when time comes to replace the filter.
Just thought I'd let ya'll know.

After reading all the posts implying that there wasn't a filter installed, I went out and checked and mine has a filter in it as well. When the time comes to replace it I'll use the old one as a template for making inexpensive replacements like others have done.

I thought there was a post on this site where someone mentioned it being behind the glove box. They also recommended using a certain 3M style engineered for use in your home and as you said, cutting it using the current one as a model. I gotta find that post again.
