Default Gas Mileage

I don't know where to put this, but I am going to put here this.

I have a 2006 Scion xB, and it has been wrecked! There is something seriously wrong with the gas mileage, as I'm suppose to get good gas mileage, but yet, on a tank of gas, I can only drive 180 miles, and I'm not getting into the engine or anything just driving normally.

Basically the engine had to be rebuilt because of the extent of the accident the car was involved in. Does anyone have any idea's what is wrong with the gas mileage? I've gone through two tanks of gas, not even in a week of having the car....

Thanks in advance,
Megan

wow.... that realy sucks.
i assume ins. payed for the repairs so you should have gone with a reman.

i couldn't tell you why you are getting suck crappy gas mileage.
i can tell you this, its one of 4 things:

#1 they didn't set the cam gears right. this would be my first guess.
#2 the intake is blocked up somehow
#3 the exaust is blocked up somehow
#4 you have some type of elcetrical problem that was eather over looked, or didn't get hooked back up right.

i would go with option 1.
if they got it off by 1 or 2 tooths you wold be having a problem like this. go to a hill that you didn't have a problem going up befor and see how it climes it.

id take it right back to who did the work for you, they are resposible for fixing it. MAKE them fix it.

Okay, let me clarify. WE, meaning Blackburn Body Shop (my uncle's business), rebuilt this car. Scion or any other man had nothing to do with the building of the car.

Insurnace didn't pay for it, because we bought the car wrecked (totalled). We've had to replace main parts including the intake manifold, and the wiring harness.

I'm pretty sure we have everything hooked up right. I am going to try a fuel injector cleaner, and then later change the oil and hopes that it helps. It has also been sitting out in the weather with basically no bumper on it, so it's been exposed to the elements.
