Default Kicks or Dash Pods?

Has anyone looked into putting their speakers into the kick panels of an '08 xB? Or perhaps in the A-pillars? Or perhaps some other location than the stock ones. And I mean the midbass and/or tweeter.

I'd like to know if you did one or the other, why you selected the location you did, and what issues there are with your installation. And of course, any other thoughts you may have.

TIA.

here are some pics of my install... tweeters in the pillars and midrange in kicks..... it is really nice.... I think it doesn't blend perfectly with the passive crossovers, but when I get the money I will go active which should fix any issues, but honestly it is really really good and sometimes hard to justify how much it would cost to go to the next level.

Very nice set-up XBFred.

Do find yourself hitting the speaker with your foot?

Why didn't you put the tweeters in the kick panels as well? Properly aimed, the stage can be very high with tweeters down low.

Did the installer use the stock panel behind the driver or did he fab another panel thus allowing easy restoration? Being able to go back to stock is an important thing to me.

I've got a Dynaudio 3-way set that would work well for an install similar to yours. If I go with a pod on the dash, I'd use a Focal coax (100CV1).

my foot hits sometimes, but they curve back in and my foot fits perfect behind them.

tweets went there to help raise the sound stage, my installer tested in several places and found that best, I think with the way you sit and overall design it was better with the components I have, but try them in several places..... I think he used the stock panel, but based on my experience I could probably buy a couple panels cheap.

I may be doing tweets and mids in kicks on my other car.
