Did you notice a difference in power?
I can't wait to get mine.
NoLimitzBuilt 01-05-2008, 01:48 AM The intake does look nice in there. Probably one of the nicest looking ones I have seen.

XD40tC 01-08-2008, 09:52 PM Not a fan of valve cover covers being painted but at least its not pink or white! Good job on the painting though.
chadfo 01-09-2008, 12:50 AM I just received my intake today. Here's my review:
Installation: Pretty easy but the cover under the front fender had to be opened to get the OEM air tube out and to put the AEM filter in. I didn't need to loosen the battery hold-down as indicated in the instructions.
Power: Under normal acceleration the car felt a little more easy going. Nothing major, it just felt like it was having an easier time getting up to speed. Under medium-hard acceleration it felt peppier. I didn't try wide open.
Sound: It sounds just like OEM using light acceleration like I use for everyday driving back and forth to work. A little more throttle and it lets out a nice aggresive growl. Get closer to wide open and it gets really throaty and a bit obnoxious for my taste. I will be looking for some way to tame that beast.

My-Write up:
I took the battery out it made things simple, didnt have to remove any additional parts. As far as sound goes, i got about the same write-up as you. Like all intakes they sound best when you open them up mid-high range and thats when you feel the most performance. After all the intake only adds 6hp so you wont notice a significant difference necessarily. I noticed a slight change in my gas mileage as well, not much but i did. If you dont like the sound it makes in mid-high range just drive normal. You will hardly know its there. All in all i am pretty happy with my purchase from AEM, also upon its arrival i happened to notice it said 50 state emissions legal. That was a bonus, got mine for $220 shipped with everything needed.
RyanW 01-09-2008, 04:53 AM To BFDBOX where did you get the smoke spray?
BFDBOX 01-10-2008, 06:27 AM I bought it from Hobby People, they have locations all over California and two in Las Vegas Nevada. Hobbypeople.net , Its a gun metal color with clear coat on top for plastics. Tamiya is the company that makes the paint, make sure you buy clear.
simplexb 01-16-2008, 03:18 AM I don't really know much about intakes, is it a cold air intake or short ram? sorry im a newb :relief:

Nice write up & pics! How mcuh time for the CAI install? And do you know if it sounds the same as the TRD CAI?
I think I will also install one of the Vent Grille Set - $30 from http://www.figureengineering.com/ for looks and to get more cold air in.
