Which Rims do you think I should put on my XD? Thanks in advance!

personally i dont like any of em but if i had to choose id probably say 2 you need to go bigger also id say 18ish

I've considered changing the tire size but function is most important to me. How much does the ride quality and gas mileage suffer with larger tires?

if these are your only choices i'd go with 1.

Hrm I say 3 as well. Though why not wait till your stock tires are dead then switch to a bigger size with rims? Thats what I'm going to do. When my tires go I'll probably go to 17" instead of 18" because I feel 18" might look too big with my car dropped already.

None of those wheels from MoreJapan look that great... I prefer http://www.sportmaxwheel.com/ and http://www.konigwheels.com/ but thats just for looking purposes :D I'll probably get a Konig Feather and get it done to be a flat black unless I find one like it thats flat black already...

but yeah jon's right. i'd probably go with 17s though, since i don't like going too far away from stock size.

bigger wheels look better, instead of 17's I'd go 18's, with a lip..

Those look a bit too big for the xD. You don't to have have big wheels to get that look. Just chunky rims will do.

Does anyone know how much bigger tires will effect my gas milage and the ride quality? I am hell-bent on getting 30+ mpg and am using this car as my daily driver. Not looking for a sporty ride as I have a separate fun car.

I definitely enjoy the aggressive and bulky look of the XD so appreciate being pointed in that direction!

Don't go too big - it makes it look like a toy.
I went up one size on my tC and I think it's great.
You might be able to go up two on your car.
The xD is really a cool ride - good luck deciding - it took me about 6-months and 100 posts to decide :)

xdnme: try this site to see how big of a difference there will be between the stock size and whichever size you think you might want. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html zoltiz posted that someplace around the forums a while ago, and its really good :)

yup this is the nicest shoes i've seen on an xd so far. or that team auto (high end) xd at sema's shoes was nice too.

Yes but how practical are those to clean? :P I don't want to spend a good 20+ minutes just cleaning my rims.. haha. The most I would go for would be 10 spoke and the least would be 5 (only if it looked good though).

that shows you have no love for your car :P

on my split 5's i spend 15-20 minutes each wheel.

now that i have the 5zigen sport engines (mesh) i will probably take some more time

Thanks for helping me out - awesome information! I'll go check out that tire size site so I'll iknow what my speedo is doing. Can anyone tel me how the ride quality of the XD is when it is on 18's or 17's? I do like the look of a bigger tire but enjoy the cars current ride. I have no plans to lower it.

yeah I dont care much for the body, but the wheels are very nice

My 1st choice would be #1 and 2nd choice would be #3. I like the understated look. Not a big fan of super shiny chrome. Shiny chrome looks good on classic cars, not modern cars IMHO.

Sportmax offers these in gloss black with an anodized blue lip. I would have to say that would look super nice on you blue xD.

Blue car with black+red rims? uh that would look bad, at least in my sense of colors. Maybe if he got the red painted to match the body color of the xD.

I think you may want to re-read my post again. You are missing a chunk of info. Black wheels with a red lip would look hideous. They now come gloss black with a blue anodized lip. I just don't have pictures yet.

Use either 2008 or 2007 tC. We share the same bolt pattern :)

hey will this fit on the xd without issues?

18x8.5 +37

Our guide says only up to an 18x8 with an offset between 28-41

That said, There is 13mm (.51") of room to work with. An 18x8.5 Should be able to fit but would need a 34-35mm offset. You 37mm offset might rub on suspension or frame.

EDIT ADDITION: An 18x8.5 would be really tight and would need to be test fitted. You are also going to really pay attention to the tire and make sure it is not too wide. You will most likely have to roll your fenders to allow room for your tires.
