Default my baby got her paint chipped the other day

so heres the story...i went to the store to get sum oil for my baby(azure pearl....she looks so good)...i pop open the hood after purchasing mobil 1 synthetic...and what do i see right on the area above the scion emblem....a huge f*ckin chip....i kinda figured it was from driving on the saw mill parkway(if anyone knows this pkwy, they know what im talking about) and having a rock bounce up and hit my car.....i was so freakin ____ed man.....anyway....does anyone know how much it would cost to get something like that fixed....the paint is chipped and i can see the black underneath it...its about the size of a head of a nail....if anyone know @ how much this would run me, could they pass it this way....also....how would i be able to protect that chip from rusting until i get it into the body shop...can i put sum kind of special tape over it or sumthing....aight thanks all...peace

ok the easy cheap quick fix is to use touch-up. and it will never rust.(it's plastic) to fix it correctly it'd have to be take to a shop and then have them sand and blend new paint onto the bumper. approx 200-700 in work depending on color and shop. and it's take approx a week with yer car outta comission. wait awhile and then down the road when it looks like total war has been had between rocks and yer bumper have it done thru insurance and get a rental.

i have some chips too on the bumper and hood. unfortunately it's unavoidable. it happens to everyone, especially with scions. people on here have said that the paint is thin so it chips easier. lucky us

hehe i haven't even gotten my baby yet and i'm worried about chipping the paint... sucks that the paint is supposedly thin but i guess i'll stock up on touch-up paint.

All stock paint is pretty ____y now adays, but Scion paint is pure crap by far... Ive gotten over the chips and scratches after these 5 months. When it gets bad enough im going to just have the whole car repainted.

Default Paint Chips

I just bought the "Clear Bra" product for my Baby. Look good and protects the paint.

Default Paint chips

I am going to guess you don't live in AZ or drive 1,000 miles a week.
Out here in AZ with the "desert landscape" which really means, we don't want to have to try to keep grass alive. Everyone has rocks in their yards. I have had to replace as many as three windshields a year. It's not plan A but I dont want to have to try to repaint the front end of my car every six months.
