you should get the real Axis OG rims....

Boxer_Rebellion
01-10-2008, 04:31 PM
The Axis ones are still copies of Works...

I actually like the stepped lip on the Drags much better, not a fan of the Axis flat one.

i was looking at getting these.. until i realized they dont make them any wider then stock.. wanted the gun metal/machined ones for my shadow mica xb.. but i want a wider tire..

Boxer_Rebellion

stock is a little narrower...

PakanaHerruus

well they dont make 8".. i'm trying to build my box to handle really nice.. want a bigger footprint..

For the price, the Axis rims are not worth it. I go through wheels every few months, and the drags fit my budget at the moment. And I agree with Boxer, I like the stepped lip much better.

^^^ Wow, crazy.

BTW, saw in another post that Continental makes a 175/55/15 tire, that would be sick on these wheels.

Does the zero offset have more lip?

well since im basically slammed all the way or as far as i can go with the Tein Basic Coilovers and the profile being so low i cant really get over speed bumps :P but i luv the look and as far as gas milage goes i cant really tell cuzz im always gunning my box....ride quality is ok IMHO you can basically feel all the bumps and stuff in the road but its do able....but yea im riding on these Drag Dr-29

kewl man just becareful with the bumps and all but i think these will should have a better rebound then a 40 series tire so that the rims wont get bent to easily when hitting a bump at high speeds

they look good man now i wished they mad these the same way in 16s :P but 15s will do....i also might have to do away with the center cap it comes with and use the center caps from my Dr-29 (hoping they fit and all) cuzz i think they stick out to far....so you had to roll the fenders? do these have the same caliper clearence problems as the old ones did? well i guess i gotta wait n c how it looks on my box to decide wheater or not to raise or keep the back tucked.....is there a lower profile for 15s? like a 45 or 40 profile? man look at all these questions im askin :P

987KEITH
02-21-2008, 02:34 AM
I need to change the centers for sure! You'll need to grind the caliper down just a little bit in the front... not too much though, and seriously seriously roll the fenders a ton to get them to tuck haha, but they fit sick once all that is done.

cool cool thanks for the follow up, anybody else/ opinions or pics of 60 profile tires on 15"s? (also, what kinda drop you got, if you post pics)

thanks

edit: How do these fit/look WITHOUT any spacers/camber too? And would i have any problem with a 2 inch drop, per say? (i've got 1.5 inch now, but am gonna get new springs/shocks, as mine are 100k miles old, lol)

987KEITH
02-25-2008, 11:56 PM
You should be fine w/ a 2" drop maybe a little little fender rolling in the back. Camber isnt really even needed with my 4" drop, but rolling the fenders would still be a must, it just looks better IMO.

xdorkx
02-26-2008, 03:50 PM
Cool thanks Keith, would I NEED the fender rolling, or do you just think that makes it look better (or both)...i don't wanna be rubbing right from the start.... I take it the wheels sit out further than stock

Thanks

987KEITH
02-27-2008, 12:01 AM
Jeff, yeah when you go to sick them on, just tap the lip of the fender with a hammer and bend it in a little bit. You should be fine after that. You may not even have to, but you down want brand new tires to rub..... like mine did haha.

well as far as the front goes i think i have 3mm spacers but im thinking about machineing it down with a lathe or one of the drill presses i have here at home......as far as the back goes im not to sure about that yet cuzz i havent tried anything yet cuzz i havent rolled/cut the rear fenders yet and maybe a lil fender pulling so i can still tuck the tires after putting spacers on.....

itsme
03-04-2008, 09:14 PM
Here are the results of spacing the rear wheels out with a 5mm spacer.......the tire will still rub even if you roll the fender (well how i did it anyways) i would recommend getting the the rear fender cut/trimmed then get some spacers and chamber plates like 2 degrees then you should be fine....

x2 on your wheels i prefer the machined face like you have but im going to do low offset all around did you have to shave your caliber down a little bit to get them to fit as well

I had to go w/a small spacer in the front that's all

so the low et10 DR-20 will only fit with a 3mm spacer up front, correct?

actually its always been like that with the dr-20s to my knowledge cuzz i had a gold set when dr-20s first came out and i had to put spacers in the front to clear the caliber and the wheel size was 15x7.5.......but yea you need some kind of spacer in the front to clear the caliper or you can just grind it down like keith did with his....

04-10-2008, 08:16 PM
oh wow, good to know, so these will NOT fit stock in the front then...

I did the same... Went w/a cheapo PepBoys spacer in the front and I was good to go. This is the best view I have. Doesn't look to bad using the spacer up front.

why does your front wheel look like it has a higher offset then the rear? lip size is diff. is the rear +10 and rear the +40 with spacer?

1BADXB
04-18-2008, 12:16 PM
I have the regular DR20's in the front and the Low Offset's in the rear to give the wheels a "Stagged" look.

Not sure. My buddy has the DR30's with 205/50/15 using the hotchis drop and it sits nice.

i have put these on order at a discount tire, they said they wont work with spacers at all though. I'm guessing ill just have them mount and balance them and ill put them on with the spacers? There isn't a risk for those small spacers is there? They put them on my old corolla a long time ago......

Oh, gold full painted low offset

Thanksgiving weekend made it my one year anniversary w/the wheels and the only complaint I have are the wheel caps fading but that's it. I wax the lips of the wheels every 3 months. no probs yet. (knock on wood)

i really want to get these now. i got a TCM and lowered with

tein s-tech's 1.7F/1.5R if i remember right. i have rolled fender's front and rear.

i wanna get the black with the machine face.

now my question is would i still need to get a rear camber for the back??? even if it

has been rolled.

will i still rub if i get 195/50/15's on with the 10 offset??? do i really have to grind

that lower piece in the rear??? i saw a post about it somewhere.

how much does it poke out in the front?(with or without the spacer)

does anyone got good pics of this or can take

one at least so i know for sure what iam getting into.

is it tucked in the front as well.i wanna get that flushed look. is the spacer really a

must to get.

iam on 16x8's with a 0 offset. but iam really considering dropping back to 15's.

thanx.sorry for the many questions.thanx in advance guys.

so that leave's my 16's for sale.and up for grabs.with TIRES.
