Default Cruise Control

After reading mixed messages from the forums I decided that I would finally email Scion directly in regards to a factory cruise control system. On one hand, I was glad for the quick response, but I also didn't like the lack of info from them and the thundering reiteration of saying, "don't put anything on your Scion that is aftermarket." How can a company that's so geared towards modifying your vehicle be so ignorant in that department. I felt like I was be repremanded by a parent. We WILL add aftermarket parts especially when they don't offer it to begin with. Anyway, here is what they had to say...

" Thank you for contacting Scion. We apologize, cruise control is currently not an
available option offered by Scion. We will certainly document your request
for future model considerations. Also, there are a wide variety of
non-genuine spare parts and accessories for Scion vehicles are currently available
in the market. You should know that Scion does not warrant these products and
is not responsible for their performance, repair or replacement, or for any
damage they may cause to, or adverse effect they may have on, your Scion vehicle.
Your Scion should not be modified with non-genuine Scion products. Modification
with non-genuine Scion products could affect its performance, safety or
durability, and may even violate governmental regulations.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions or comments. We would be happy to assist you. You may contact us directly at 1-866-70-SCION
or
by email at https://secure.scion.com/scion/ssl/c...contactForm.do

Maybe if every one of us emailed them they would magically come up with a kit? As they did say, "We will certainly document your request for future model considerations." That paints a nice picture but it doesn't help current owners in the present.

I don't remember it ever being on the site, i'm not saying it was, but its a port install in some regions and a dealer install in others, and some just don't offer it at all

Yeah I was talkin to a lady here in Naples and she was upset b/c they told her it wasn't an option anymore. I'm glad I got mine when I did. Yeah it was on the site for a little while i do remember that from building it. Wonder why they removed it completely.

the discrepancy is between models -- the xA doesn't offer cruise, while the others (as far as i know) *do*.

My dealer put a Toyota Cruise Control on mine, and it is included in the financing and warranty... but maybe he messed up. He laughed at me when I asked if there is *ANY* way for me to get cruise on my xA... so it really wasn't an issue.

i'm glad i asked...
