I bought the last xB2 of 2007
That's right.. I walked into the local Scion dealership, and bought the last xB2 of the year. (Walked out of the dealership at 12/31/07 @ 7:30).
I settled for the Classic Silver xB2 with the auto.
The only add-on I got was the carbon fiber treatments.
I am concerned though about a few things.
I had to fill the tank at 282 miles, (I had 10 when I left the dealership).
I have now about 560 miles, and I am now on my 3rd tank of gas. Is this normal?
The computer says I'm averaging 24.5 mpg, and when I fill up, it always stops at 11 gallons. Is it normal for it to hit E, with still 3 gallons (based off the 14 gallons in the O&M).
Also should I chage the oil now, or wait the 5k miles?
I also bought a sub and amp, because.. well the bass is a little lacking with the stock/base HU.
I am having it installed tomorrow, does the base HU have pre-amp outs?
Or will I need an adapter to connect the factory wiring to a step-down unit?

I'm not quite sure on the milage, as I have only had my XB 3 weeks as of yesterday, but if you have the "BASE" hu you will have to get a amp with "line in" inputs. The midline cd player has preamp outputs on the rear of the deck. That was the only upgrade I got when I bought mine..
24.5mpg * 11gal = 269.5 mi.
I have a lead foot, so I get below that. My computer sez 255 miles after I've filled it up.
Mileage isn't that big of a concern to me, as my old '97 Camry got about the same mileage but with less power and less panache.

mu usuall fill up is somewhere around 10-11 gallons...i get about 26-30 pending on weather conditions and driving style with about the same outcome...anywhere from 270's to 300...also the stock hu doesn not have pre-amps..i wired my little bazook to the rear speakers...and the oil..i changed mine after 1k of breaking in driving...like they say in the mnul...varying rpm's and what not...
around town i usually get 20-26 lol i have a lead foot also! on interstates i get 30-31 at 75-85mph cruise set, i am a traveling photographer so there were some days i was doing 300-400 miles of driving mostly interstate, weather then was hot anywhere from 80's-105 was down in texas, mississippi, louisiana, and alabama
i just filled up for the 3rd time, I tend to average 24.5 according to the computer.
As far as having the BASE sound system, you don't necessarily need an amp with high level inputs, you can use an after market high-to-low adapter which gets spliced into your speaker outputs of your factory stereo and converts it to an RCA low level signal. That's what we use in the install bay @ best buy, as opposed to the high level inputs of some of the amps we carry. I'd definitely recommend spending the extra money investing in an aftermarket Pioneer head unit to take advantage of a decent EQ, it'll sound a lot better than running a high-to-low or high level input ;) Nice part about the Pioneer units is having a wired remote input to hook up the steering wheel controls to(100 dollar module). That's what I did with my AVIC-D3
