Default TC newbie looking to do aftermarket upgrades...help!

I am a complete newbie at all of this so I am looking for advice on everything for my 05 TC. The main idea is I am looking to make my engine look show quality and I am going for a polished chrome with blue look. Performance is important but I dont necesarily need to have the best, but I want it to look ridiculous. I have been shopping around and I am trying to get some decent deals and these are some of the items and different options.

Exhaust
Initially was looking at a greddy Ti-C Catback for $376 but have somebody local I can get a Greddy DTM axle back for $160....ideas?

Intake
I want chrome piping, initially they have me down for an injen cold air I am thinking around $250 or so but I can get a polished Fujita for $185 or an AEM for $225.

Headers
I like the Megan headers for the look and the price is reasonable...I have seen this for around $200 shipped.

They are gonna do a polished air diversion panel and all the tubing in blue for me. Engine damper, greddy struts bars, agency power crank pulley, eibach springs, and a couple little things like billet battery cover and oil catch tank.

I know this might be a little vague but I am real new to this and dont want to get worked over. All you veterans if you can give me some advice that would be great.

for your headers, if you are really interested in the Megan Racing ones, I say contact wesellcarparts in the Sponsored Sales Section. He has awesome prices, his shipping is fast, and you might find some other things you are looking for. Looking around and being patient is the key. Don't just jump on the first low price you see. Get in contact with the sellers here, find the best price, and get what you truly want.

For Springs..I had the Eibach Pro-kit...I liked the drop for the stock 17's...If u plan on upgrading to 18's...U need to getting a lower Drop I upgraded to Progress Springs...Big Difference..NO Gap
Also recommend the Progressive Rear Sway Bar!..

For the ETD I get the Ingall's brand..Pretty good product..Ur car will Vibrate when at idle...

I go for the INJEN intake rated best for the tC..

For the Raditor Plate go w/ Dr. Isotope's...: www.docotorisotope.com

I dont know much about Headers..

For exhaust depends if you want LOUD ****..or one thats quiet..I have the DC Sports Axle-back..its quiet when u want it to be..then it can also be Loud!

As mentioned a billion times. Look around. Dont go for the lowest crap you find. Remember that its MUCH better to spend $300 on a great quality part than $200 or $250 on something sketchy that would probably break.

My personal favorite exhaust would be the Precision Muffler exhaust. Sounds great and looks beautiful.

IMHO, if you're only goal is to get parts as cheap as possible to make your car look cool with no real interest in performance or functionality, thats rice.

If you want a general guide line to good tuning, check out the Import Tuning Rules thread in my signature.

Man, this site is great. You guys are helping a lot.

I saw the exaust for $225 on craigslist from a company in AZ called racensound.com. They are local and they said it is brand new.

I don't know how the tsudo exhaust is for Scions but i know that for Hondas it doesn't line up to great, and it sounds slightly ricy just FYI

Anything sounds like rice if you've got a full exhaust + headers with no High flow cat or big resonators. I do mean ANYTHING. But if someone likes sounding like a lawnmower, more power to them.

true...but my friend has the dezod exhaust with a header and it sounds like a street bike, so a header will make anything sound bad no matter what you have. the Tsudo sounds great with the stock header

Update

Okay guys...everybody has been a real help. Here is what I am close to doing...let me know what everyone thinks. I am going to re-do the whole car to make it show quality (or at least try) but I thought I would get the bigger things out of the way first.

Exhaust
Greddy SP2...I like the quietness of it compared to others and I am getting it for $330.

Headers
DC sports ceramic header for $285

Intake
Injen polished for $240

What do you guys think about this...performance, sound, price...etc. Any feedback would be helpful.

Not a bad setup... But expect to be loud. You are gonna need some high-flow cats and resonators to reduce the rasp. How many places did you contact to get those prices?

Default Update

Okay guys...heres an update.

I picked up my Greddy SP2 ($330) and Injen intake ($225) last week. I decided to go with the Hotchkis springs ($190) and the DC Headers ($270) should be here by Monday.

I still have a lot more mods to purchase (engine and hood dampers, diversion panel, front and back strut, pulley, Grillcraft mesh grills for upper and lower, and all the hose kits and engine dressings) and I am gonna wait til I have everything before I have it put together.

Questions, comments, hopefully some advice?

You should have told me you wanted the Grillcraft Grills! I just traded them for the NST Crank Pulley!
