The time has come for me to get a rack for the xb....with a surf board on the way and other hauling needs I will need to get a rack. So off the internet- where did you buy from and how much? OR if you went to a local store, where and how much did you pay as well?

that is a pretty good price there...i got mine off the classifieds section on here for like 165 shipped and what was with the fairing (got a killer deal)...but i have seen a complete set up on scikotics in the past for about 250 shipped...but other than that there is ebay...but i would go with that one for 200 if you cant find one used for cheap

 

your best bet is to just piece it together by searching on ebay and places like amazon.com. if you go on ebay though, sometimes it seems like its hard to get a good deal on yakima stuff becuase its pretty popular. it took me a few months to get all the stuff i needed. i would see very used parts like q towers go for almost what they are new.

 

yeah i am weary of ebay especially with car parts and 'all sales final- no exceptios' stuff like that

I got mine from a local bike shop that i go to, during spring sale they have them for 15%-25% off.

 

both of my local dicks stores do not cary yakima roof racks, only the rear mounted ones. also. all my local specialty bike shops only carry the rear mount ones also, they say that the roof mounted ones are two expensive and they do not recomend them. they told me i could order form them though, but there was no savings. if your leary of ebay, check amazon.com. they have most of there yakima stuff cheaper than anywere else, plus its new, plus you get free shipping. only problem is they usually dont ship there stuff for three weeks after you place your order. so now is a good time to do it.
