Default Cheap Head Unit with MP3 playback?

I'm taking nice head unit out of my mx-6 which my brother uses, but he himself also plays mp3 cds, and the old headunit i was going to put in there doesn't play mp3 cds. Any recommendations for a cheap head unit which has mp3 playback?

I don't own an xB (I own a tC), and the head unit I want is going into a single din slot of an mx-6, not a scion.

On a related stopic, I think I've come to a conclusion, i'll pass it by my brother and see if he wants to spring the money.

JVC also sells some pretty cheap (pricewise, I've NEVER had a problem with a JVC deck) mp3 decks. You can find em for about $130 in retail stores, or on ebay for about $100 + shipping.

cant say i would buy the pioneer 4600. i love pioneer, but 179 for that radio (not worth it) if u want cheap but a rampage or dual. you want okay quality, get a jvc with mp3 playback its like 130. the pioneer 4600 is the exact same thing as a 2600 but has mp3 playback.

any other q's shoot me a pm.

The pioneer is worth it. With my other car, I had bought a cheap jvc and returned it and then bought a 4600 mp and it was a world of difference.

i got a CHEAP mp3 for about 60 bucks. i got it at circuit city, i forgot what brand it is but it works perfectly. mp3 loading times is sometimes slow but i was aiming for price, not performance. its removable and comes with a remote. im using it with stock speakers and thats it for my corolla's ICE upgrades. a world of difference from the stock tape deck that couldnt even retain radio stations.

i wouldn't suggest many mp3 players that are half decent under the 200 dollar range... the bare minimum Would either a kenwood kdc5025mpv or a pioneer premier 550mp... most other less expensive radios don't seem to have the build quality or the features for upgrading down the line... if it's only your brother you might get away with it
