Hey everyone, well by jan of next year i will be graduating from high school and off my way to culinary school ... only thing is i havent really considered where to go :doh: :doh: So I really need to start looking now.. maybe some of you are chefs up in here and know of some good ones? im pointing towards l.a./las vegas/florida.. and oh yeah, scottsdale.. only things i found so far are the Le Cordon Bleu schools, and i have no idea how good the Le Cordon Bleu line up is.. so please ANY HELP is appreciated.. im such a loser for askin ya'll this :nails: :nails: :lalala: :lalala:I really, really want to start college like right away, i dont want to be "Takin a year off" and shizit.. i just want to get into it and get done so i can pursue my dream of a culinary artist :)

St. Helena, Ca: called the CIA or rather the Culinary Institute of America, very good school.....also in San Francisco: Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts....Good Luck I wanted to be a chef for a long time but gave up on it because its a tough world to try and make it in I hope you have better luck than i though! :silly:

I had been accepted to Le Cordon Bleu in Vegas but have not gone, yet at the time I could not get the financial aid. I looked in the CIA also but way more money, its a very good place to go though. I did not like them because they make you chose what side of things you do, ie pastry, garnish, ice sculpture,etc. where as Cordon Bleu teaches you every thing, including front of the house.

yea that was my main beef with them.
Cordon Bleu start from the beginning and goes through everything, including cutting meat, and chocolates, etc. they can be a little hard to get into as well, but their semesters start every 75 days, so you can try again after that, you do have to do an interview, they do not care about your SAT scores or you grades, just your passion for coking.

wow, hmm, Cordon Bleu sounds really awesome now, than..lol, i did NOT know that they teach you everything, i thought u just pick whatever you chose to do and thats it.... thats sweet, im for SURE going to apply for them now, and hard to get into eh? uh oh, i am not very good @ "Interviews" but when it comes to cooking I LOVE IT, so maybe i wont have such a hard time.. thank you EVERYONE for your feedback, this helps out alot, and ill for sure have to pm ChefBamm....THANKS!

its kinda hard to get into and pretty expensive, My friend attends the Pasadena Le Cordon Bleu and it is around 50k a year

yea it was going to cost me right at $47,000 for Vegas, but that included everything but living. like books, tuition, and a knife and cooking tool kit that you keep.

I went to school for culinary arts as well. Johnson and Wales university has the best culinary program and is world renoun. I would seriously consider this school.
