I'm swapping my blown head gasket this weekend and decided to install a header if I can find one in time. Anyone know of any stores that sell TC aftermarket parts? Or I'll take a used one if anyone knows someone. THanks

 

Dont. It's not worth it.. Trust me.

A header will not gain too much hp.. but it will definitely make your exhaust loud and raspy.. and you wouldn't wanna be sounding like a ricer. You can fix that rasp by adding a resonator or 2, but it will still be loud in the end. It's all up to you.. I should of listened to 'them' when they told me i will regret later on. well, i sure do. and im putting my stock header back on shortly.

 

I'm running an aftermarket header from Alphawerks. I have no rasp! However I did have a custom cat-back setup done to help eliminate the rasp. Sound will change on it too when I get the S/C on her.

 

Aren't ppl getting 8 to 10hp gain with just the header? And wouldn't that be an even greater gain with the SC? I'm running a stock exhaust, which I'll never change, so I don't think the sound could get that bad.

 

with a header i think youll get a sound even with stock exhaust. it might actually give you an even uglier raspy noise

(not really, cause the new one is actually a turbo exhaust manifold...NOT a header, but anyway...!)

I think he's got the SC, so that's good enought, I mean, compared to some of the non FI stuff WE have posted up in here!

And yeah I got a SC so technically I'm ok in the FI forum. But uh, really just needed a header so put up a bunch of posts. It worked because I found a couple DC's available. :o
