UB LED question
I recently had an LED UB kit profesionally installed and will only turn on with key in the ignition and in on position so the wireless remote is kind of pointless. is there any way i can make it so it the lights will turn on without the key in the ignition?

Running to the battery is a little more work than just running it to an open slot on the fuse box under the dash on the drivers side.
If I remeber correctly, in the tech, the guy just cuts a horseshoe connector in half and jabs it into the open slot on the fuse box.... dont do that, get an "add-a-circuit" from Autozone or O'rielys (or whatever auto store is around where you live
)Doing it that way is easy as pie!
So i followed the wires from the back of the controller and there are 3. one connects the bars to the controller. the other two are stuck together.
This is one is spliced into a blue wire. do I cut the black one and add a circuit to the fuse box?

The other is spliced into another appearing to be the ground.

yes, I'll try and find that out for you. I'll have to go look cuz I can't remember off the top of my head.
btw, how much is "professional installation" running?
I would get some wire taps instead of just using electrical tape to splice the wiring

Here are some pics.
For the future, when you are taking pics of something close up like you did with the wiring, use the "macro" function on your camera. It will focus things at very close range.
Enjoy the pics:

As you can see, I added a circuit for my lighting to the "always on" slot.
Also, for the future, if your radio stops working and the lights on the radio dont come on, your cig lighter plug doesnt work, then check your ACC fuse.

Thank you so much for your time and taking it step by step with me. As you can tell I'm new to this and really appreciate your time and all your info. I got the kit for $230, 7 colors, 8 modes, and music interfacce with wireless remote. and it was $210 for installation which i think is ridiculous. lol. One last question, do i add fuses to the add a circuit for the lights? If so what type do i get?
No problem.
Yes you need to add a fuse to the circuit. I cant remeber what I have in mine. But the line doesnt work without a fuse.
Just use the same kind of fuse that was already in line on you current wiring setup....
wait, please tell me he did install a fuse!
I ended up with a couple of fuses in line.
I think the one in the picture facing down is a 7.5amp.
I think I would install someones for a couple hundred bucks. Its a real pain to fit under the dash and get all the wires run outside under the body.
Post up some pics when you're done.
