PLEASE HELP WAlterEgo 01-14-2008, 08:26 AM i dont mean to be rude, but search! there are plenty of topics on this. and hooking it up can be a PITA if u dont know what u are doing. Dkfung88 01-14-2008, 08:28 AM careful when u do install a remote start on a manual... not sure about other states but its illegal in mine... i know cops wont see it but just fyi SicktC06 01-14-2008, 12:28 PM There is now an alarm system with Remote Start that is legal. I own it. I will search for you and find the thread I posted it in... http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=205489&highlight= installing it, well I let the alarm shop do that... greddy05tc 01-14-2008, 11:40 PM compustart remote start alarm system. it has plenty of fail safe ways that keeps it from being able to start while in gear. plus it has all kinds of upgrade options that can be added to it. Dkfung88 01-15-2008, 06:12 AM hmmm how much does those alarms go for? lol im interested now =P boostedbox06 01-15-2008, 06:15 AM Viper has one, mine has the ability to do so, but I only hooked up the turbo timer portion as remote starts on a manual are illegal in cali I think the number is something like 712xt or something I will check when I get back to my house on thursday if you want... Jiggaman 01-15-2008, 07:30 PM The new zenesis alarm system is very nice, and can be put on a 5 speed like mine and have the remote start work flawlessly. Sure you have to get a clutch bypass and an ignition bypass, but its sooo nice to be able to hop outta the shower and be able to start your car while you are getting ready for work. Around here, you could get a full installed compustar with remote start for around 350. clutch bypass and ignition bypasses are extra $$$ tho... scioncraze05 01-15-2008, 11:32 PM I just installed my Compustar alarm and remote start in my tC last weekend. The clutch bypass and key bypass were not that hard to install, the hard part is hooking up 2 more relays for the 2 extra wires that need to see 12volts while cranking, they are the 2nd starter wire and 2nd ignition wire. If you do not know how to work with relays or alarms or electrical work in that matter, I strongly suggest you do not attempt this install!! Take it to a PRO to do. But if you feel confident in doing it, PM me and I can help you out as much as I can. |
