Default Best to sell with or with out aftermarket parts?(keeping it)

Would I have better chances of getting more buyers if I put it back to stock or with mods?

Maybe-if you get someone hooked on your car because of what you have done to it than you could make it worth your while.

If you are trading it in a dealer won't give you crap for any mods and try to cut the price because of them.

Some things might be worth while due to the ease of un-installing and selling them yourself on here or craigslist-like the rear sway bar (easy to take off and worth $100 or so)

Quick shifter-? The new owner could really like the way it shifts-could help sell it and it might be a pain to take it out.

STOCK. Your mods might not be to the liking of some ( or maybe none, depending what they are ;^) but a stock xB is always good. Strip off the mod bits, restore the stock bits and sell the mod bits separately . . . .

^^^Exactly! People rather buy a blank canvas than one that's been painted on already...

I know the stealer wouldn't give me anything for any of my mods. I going to try and sell it myself. A lot of stuff is already off for the winter.

Only problem is that I'm 60% sure that i want to sell it. I want to list it but I need to replace the headrests. Plus I need to test drive the car I'm looking at too. Need to sell the xB if I like the car. Can't list it without headrests.

AHH. I really like the xB, but I want something with a little more power and sportyness. Been looking into IS300's just hard to find one close to me that lasts long enough for me to look at. Just torn at the moment. Cause once the headresst go....by by xB.

part it out, you will always make more money selling your mods then leaving them on the car.
+ its 10x easier selling a stock car.
if i was to try and buy your car my buing point would be "i don't like the mods and plan on changing things" weather its true or not it would be my angle of talking you down.

Well I'm a little shorter than you (6'3). Thats why I want to test drive.

As for parts, it would be just about everything that isn't stock. Most likely leave the rear sway on just because it gives it a better ride. These parts would only go up for sale if I like the IS300. Which may take awhile, so don't get your hopes up to soon.

I agree. Stock or mostly stock should give you the most interest/money. Don't expect to get any money for the aftermarket parts so you may as well put back on the stock ones and try to sell the aftermarket parts separate. Are you trading or selling private? Either way, that intake needs to be swapped with the stock airbox. Other stuff- sway bar, strut bar, shocks should be fine. Exhaust may be ok if it's not loud. Aftermarket wheels and tires are probably ok since they're 15" and an upgrade from steelies. Don't really know about the appearance stuff and lights. A lot of mods and a dealer or private party may wonder what else has been done that they don't see.

I made sure the mods I did could be easly removed without anyone knowing that they were there.

That trade would be hard not to pass up. Not a huge fan of subaru, but I would definitly be torn on that one.

What's to think about? xB is worth around $12k. The STi is around $20k. Insurance premiums might be a killer. Also required premium gas and lower fuel economy. But lots more fun?!? I wouldn't run out and buy one but if someone offered a super deal, I don't think I could pass it up.

Trade for the STi in a second-if you don't like it sell the Sub and buy another stock box and have $6000 or more to invest in new stuff and redo what you would have done differently.
