Doc showpaojoe 01-07-2004, 03:17 AM ebay cheapies. neon under kit under $20...LED is under $40 but there shipping is like $35...from The Neon Source in florida yanges 01-07-2004, 03:25 AM check this place out: http://www.streetglow.com/ they got some nice stuff....their lights are very sturdy, but are expensive.... but i found them elsewhere for a lot cheaper than on their site, so find the one you like and then google it and you will find a better price i am sure.... mikeluvsjo 01-07-2004, 03:29 AM i dont know I saw someone had posted a picture of there xb and it had undercar lights, it looked sweet so I was just wondering where to get them ( not cheap ones) and how to intall them ( what do i need to know?). showpaojoe 01-07-2004, 03:37 AM The Neon Source doesn't sell cheap neons. They have a deal with shipping and it's a fixed price so you end up paying like twice the price of the neons but they are good stuff. My friends and I use their stuff all the time . Streetglow is the best but you'll pay your ___ off when you can save for something in equal brightness but less life yanges 01-07-2004, 03:50 AM The Neon Source doesn't sell cheap neons. Streetglow is the best but you'll pay your ___ off when you can save for something in equal brightness but less life hey showpaojoe i did a google search a while back and found the streetglow sets [4 lights & all hardware] for around $150 or a little less.... that is pretty decent for what you get.....i think  i saw some blacklight undercar stuff somewhere but can not find it now.... beathookup 01-07-2004, 03:54 AM www.varad.com showpaojoe 01-07-2004, 03:59 AM You get the same from the neon source...2 36" and 2 48" tubes and all hardware and instructions for over half the price. The LED lights come with 2 patterns and they have upgrades like 12 patterns or a remote control debris 01-07-2004, 04:10 AM pep boys has them for $99....best buy has them for $149 i got mine at best buy. its optx...same company as street glow. scionracerxb 01-07-2004, 04:11 AM i wanted to get a kit for mine too, which do ya'll think is brighter. Neon or LED? 01-07-2004, 05:32 AM I got 2 18in blue neons under my car. got them off of ebay for $30 plus shipping for $2 bucks. I love them. Indy007 01-07-2004, 02:02 PM LEDs all the way. I put blue LEDs on an xB, and green neons on the xA. Same level of brightness, but the LED set we ended up getting is ridiculously durable. The battery drain of LEDs is also much, much less than neons. I've left them on for hours at a time. The only downside to LEDs is that if you don't mount them high enough, or you end up driving over certain types of floors (like a painted concrete garage floor) you can see each little dot of light in the reflection (doesn't show up on the street though). Ended up running 4 LED bars under the car, 2 in the sub enclosure, and 1 under the hood. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures. not the greatest pic, but this is with LEDs. http://www.houston-imports.com/~woodlands/woodlands/DSC05862.JPG http://upload.houston-imports.com/uploaded/scion%20woodlands5.jpg randode 01-07-2004, 03:26 PM you can get neons from steve at www.bbist.com 01-07-2004, 04:14 PM yeah, I agree about the leds making little dots on theground. Thats one of the reasons why I went to neon, but I am reconsidering because the led is brighter. But then again the cathode lights are even brighter then LEDs. Still up in the air about changing my undercar lights. Indy007 01-08-2004, 05:51 PM But then again the cathode lights are even brighter then LEDs. I use cold cathode on all the computer cases I dress up, but those are all 12" lights. Anybody able to find 36" & 48" tubes? Cuz it's that, or order alot of epoxy, zip ties, and a prayer they don't come apart after awhile :D Besk_one 01-08-2004, 06:09 PM cold cathodes are way to fragile to use under a car imho... randode 01-08-2004, 06:18 PM cold cathodes are way to fragile to use under a car imho... i agree! but besk, your car looks awesome with them under the hood. I hope you dont mind if i copy you. showpaojoe 01-08-2004, 06:42 PM i dont mind if you put em in mine either besk. i'll pay for install or we trade something...? ghost 01-08-2004, 07:40 PM Just to fool around, I mounted my 12" VARAD Green LED bar under the ___ of my car. This was about 40 minutes ago, in a parking garage, in daylight. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid98/p4e8a96ee6f67aa5416463de5f27122b9/fa050138.jpg Go with the VARAD UL200 kit. Runs like $150..and is very very thin. Andrew |
