I've got the front right now, there is deffinatly a difference.... I will find and desin a rear hopefully near spring time. Any input / ideas are appreciated. this will be for my xA, but it'll probably go into an xB also. I for see an easily remvoable item as space is need for other goodies...

a tie bar to connect the top of the two towers in the back of an Xa. Does that not make sense? It'd be a bar in one's trunk if you will

They don't have struts in the rear. They make a shock tower brace though. Don't see it doing a whole lot though.

better to do a rear sway bar and front strut tie bar. you have to remember that we have shcoks in the rear with a solid axle. that shouldn't be moving side to side unlike other vehicles with rear struts and full independent suspension.

the rear shock tower bar does nothing. dont forget, even if you get it on there tight, there is bushing rubber around the shock rod, so it still flexes. if you were to weld one onto the frame metal it would make for some rigidity.... like the way it is on the front (mounting to the frame metal, not the top of the shock rod).

Here's the rear bar by GTSpec...If you have issues or questions about the funtionality of the design, talk to them about it.

I have even wondered about the functionality of the similar *front* bar by GTSpec. These removable bars look too flat and weak and flexible to be a good body brace.

I've put strut / shock tower braces in a few cars. Scirocco's Rabbits, golfs etc..
Which were more flexible back in the day than these new cars. They all helped in combination with each other. Front lower braces made the most noticeable improvement for me. But any stiffness increase will help handling etc.. Is it worth it? Hmm That becomes debatable with the better the cars are becoming. If you dont mind a bar running across your trunk, then go for it. I found it to be fine most of the time, but it was a pain in the ___ on many occcasions. You may find a better place to spend your efforts though. Springs, shocks etc..

good luck I hope that helps

Thanks. That's what I've been calling my own fabrications since 1998. I like to keep people guessing or asking, "how'd you do that?".

I can still carry thigs, It just depends on the size of the items. I was still able to get a Del Sol hood into it.

I have no other passengser that ride in my box, so if I need to carry larger items, I just fold my seats down.
