If you're getting hungry at that point ask Rodney to find a place to eat! He'll probably not only recommend a restaurant, but also provide slightly tilted pictures of several of his favorite dishes! Normally I would say to pick up John Sr. while you're there, but he left two weeks ago and is basking on a beach with 30 sorority girls somewhere. Such is the hard life. Head northeast out of the Sunshine State and cross the Rocky Mountains into Denver. There you can collect Nick, Elyce, Frosty, Hax and all of the members of ScinergyCO! That's a group of true Road Warriors. Ask DJ Hax for tips on picking up NOPI Chicks. A right turn out of Denver headed toward the southeast will land you in Tulsa, birthplace of Scikotics. Although Jon and Jaquetta won't be joining us this year you could still probably bum a cookie off of them, maybe a beer too. Be sure to sign up to attend Asylum while you are there. The DFW crew should meet you there in Tulsa saving you the scenic drive that is Eastern Texas. You may need to stop by Clay and Crystal's place and help him finish a mod or ten before getting him to join your caravan too. Heading due east after collecting the OKC tribe will plant you somewhere in the Ozarks. You will want to keep your windows rolled up and doors locked here to reduce the chance of hillbilly infection. Fortunately, the hillbilly population has been mostly driven out by Midwestern college students too poor to get all the way to South Padre or Daytona for vacation. Bring beads. You will eventually come to the garden spot of the middle of nowhere, Springfield, MO. There you will meet Horberg. He has invited you all to stay with him for the evening provided you change all of the diapers on his beautiful new daughter. Pay no attention to the man with the crazy look in his eye that just appeared behind you at this point. That's just Rob. He probably is crazy, but we love him anyway. Ask him to tell you a Volkswagen story, it soothes him. The Road Warriors from the Peach State should join you as well. They are a surly bunch with wild tales of visiting distillery after distillery on their voyage into the Yankee north. I have provided no directions for them because they know the way. Like salmon migrating upstream to spawn, they'll make their own way, but possibly without the spawning, who knows? HEAD NORTH! Kansas City beckons with its BBQ, jazz music, and reasonably priced shopping experiences laced with old fashioned Midwestern values. Members of ScinergyKC, Scikotics, Scinister Scions, and the Scion Region itself welcome you to their area. Hopefully the St. Louis crowd headed by the infamous OG of the Midwest, JBO himself, will meet you as well. STL Scions are a fearsome group with fantastical rides. Make sure somebody in the bunch has a spare tire or two. TAKE HEART! You are almost there. The Interstate 35 takes you out of Kansas City through the most scenic portion of the country since central Nebraska, SOUTHERN IOWA! You will be able to witness vast amounts of nothing punctuated with nothing in particular at all! On the horizon looms Des Moines (the "s" is silent, both of them). It is your final market before the glory of Ames. You will run into Dan, that is okay. He is very used to the abuse. Tell him to go to hell. Then join the Des Moines Scikotics on the final leg of the journey into Ames. The congregation is there! Where the Interstate 35 intersects the Highway 30. No too distant from where Buddy Holly and Richie Valens played their final show, along the route named for possibly our greatest president that bisected our country for nearly a century, east of nothing much, west of nowhere extremely special, north of places you've seen before, and south of nothing in particular. YOU ARE IN AMES!

Alex, I literally Laughed Out Loud a few times there. Especially the Clay and Crystal bit and the part about Rob!
110% great comedy!
See you in May!

I'm glad you liked the directions. Occasionally I have an inspiration and just go with it. The best thing is that there are only a couple dozen people that will ever find that funny...
Anyway, thank you for the enthusiasm on the roll call. I'm going to hold off on that for a couple of months though.
Please do get your plans in place to come out in May. You are welcome to make hotel reservations here too. I know the Microtel had the best rates last year (515) 233-4444 and if you want to go swanky or split a room with 2 or 3 others there is the Grandstay Suites (515) 232-8363.
I have just found that we get a more accurate count if we do the rollcall much closer to the show.
Let's keep this thread to discuss the show in general, make plans, and pose any questions you may have!
See you here!

Alex, what about CAMPING?!
Rob and I are working on "Camp ONE LOVE" again this year!
We're hoping to get a bunch of us out there together and have a party in the woods!
It's a lot of fun! Here's some pics from our site last year!

Anyone who wants to join, post up. If we get enough interest we'll start a new thread! I know right now Rob, Me, and Brad and Ashley from the OZ are camping. It's cheap, it's fun and we eat WELL! (thanks to Rob!)

I want to camp again this year but unfortunately my Better half says its to hard to get to the event on time with young kids, and we may have a free place to stay in Ames this year... So I actually might get to the Wilsons lot in time to help out this year.... If plans change I'll let you know, in the mean time I have PMed Shorberg with the info for reserving campsites at Ledges State park where we stayed last year.
