Is your STB from Hotchkis or a batch sold to Toyota? I know they are the same just different cosmetic color.

Seems to me you might have a bad batch. It probably not properly manufactured.

I am sure they will give u a new one. Most manufacturers have 1 year warranty.

The pics look cool though. It kinda is a cross between a brush and camoflage pattern, but it might be ugly in person.

Whoa, those pics look scary  Hopefully it wont crack/ break into many pieces and start flying off inside the engine bay. Ouch.

What the hell would cause that to happen? Those cracks look sick, like someone got crafty and key'd that instead of the car.

just say it's a "custom krackel finish" and you'll win extra points at your next car show ;)

Those aren't "stress cracks" in the traditional sense, but a crazing problem with the surface paint or powder coat. The part isn't going to break any faster than a "perfect" one, but it is definitely defective, and not up to Scion Style. I would think replacement would be automatic.

Mine is the same way. I just had the dealership order a replacement.

Can somebody with a Hotchkis bar (with no scratches) on their xB please confirm that your bar is not like this? Just wanna make sure that this was from a bad batch and they're not all like that. Thanks.

agreed, I think thoughs cracks look horable. I hope this is just a bad one and they dont all do that. Good luck on getting that fixed. Take it to your toyota dealer and get that checked out.

It almost looks like it was painted rather than powdercoating and the stress from driving cracked the finish. If it were powdercoated it shouldnt do that. I always thought they were powdercoated or are they :?
