id be caeful with that.
if the 2nd gen is like the 1st gen there is a @400.00 control box to get the dome light to fade out.
others on here have put to many extra lights on that circut and fried the control box.

thanks so much for that info! i had a similar idea to tap into the dome lights and utilize the fading effect..
on a side note, that sorta sounds like a warning of experience... you blow out that box before?

uhhh.. i don't see how you can fry something like that unless someone grossly messed up their wiring... at which point, it doesn't matter what you do, you're gonna fry something.

it's very possible to wire them up how you would want to.

do a search here the system cant take the load of to many extra lights.
the box sits behind and just below the instrument cluster
only so much can be added before its overloaded.
please if you haven't done it to your car and been successful don't tell other members they will be ok.
i did not do it to my car but did find info on others that have and payed the $$
its not weather its wired right or not it has to do with the units ability.
if your so sure go hook up a bunch of leds to your dome circuit and let us know just how much it takes to fry it then you can pay the $$$$ to replace yours and we will all know what its limit is.
i have put 8 single leds on mine 2 each in the grab handles and not had problems.
I'm not willing to go more at the expense of frying that control box.
i was going to add many because of the cool fade effect and found the info just by accident.
i will try and find the thread that has the info and post a link here.
also ask Thomas (moderator) he knows

This would be a sweet mod, but if it involves frying the circut I'd rather not. Anyone have experience with these in the gen2s?
