Default TOY-SC1 for Sirius Satellite Radio

Just an FYI......the new TOY-SC1 will allow you to add Sirius radio to satellite-ready Scion/Toyota factory head units. I have the premium head unit in my xb2 and everything is controlled and displayed through the factory stereo/steering wheel controls. You also will need to purchase the SC-C1 to work in conjunction with the TOY-SC1. While testing a beta unit, I was able to mount my antenna inside the dash since the top of the dash is all plastic. No visible antenna! This module should be available within the next monthor so and will work on 2005-up Scions and Toyotas.

I'd guess for around $75-$100. The SC-C1 is already available for around $50. You need both. The SC-C1 is the actual tuner and the TOY-SC1 is the translator so that it can communmicate with the Toyota head unit.

Circuit city has the SC-C1 for 38 bucks.

Not sure where to get the TOY-SC1 or the cost.

Differences?

I had the old set up with the Toyota Sirius tuner. It only had a 10 character display through the factory head so I sold it and used a stand alone tuner. This new set up claims 16 characters and is considerably cheaper. I would try it if it works.

I have a BETA unit in my xb2 right now and it has scroll on/off capability and 11/16 character capability. I like it. Give it another 4-6 weeks till it's available.

Yup. I'm testing those two pieces right now. 5 minute install and everything is plug and play.

I mounted it iniside the dash for awhile but it would cut out here and there. Now I have it right behind the OEM radio antenna on the roof and it hasn't lost signal once.

The SC-C1 comes with a low-profile antenna
