Alright guys, hopefully someone can help me ID this suspicious vehicle at work today. All I have to go on is the unique tail lights, but that should be enough to figure out what make/model it is. I'll try to describe it the best I can...

Vehicle made most likely in the 80s or very early 90s
The rear lights go all the way across the entire rear of the car. It's basically a black horizontal bar, and within the bar are red diagonal lines that light up (either for brake lights and/or running lights)
It was definitely a decent try by the vehicle manufacturer to make the car look sleek and futuristic. If you saw the back of this car, the first thing that would come to mind is Back To the Future (although they are nothing like DeLorean lights)

Anyone want to take a guess?

 

would it be domestic, euro, or JDM? that IDs alot of cars..especially in the 80s

 

I am leaning towards domestic, but possibly Japanese. Definitely not euro.

 

I'm going to guess Mercury Cougar or Nissan Pulsar

 

or maybe a mark VIII, or even a 83-93 mustang, or possible a thunderbird, same era.. actually any ford or mercyrys that era.. lol

Nope that is a nissan pulsar tail light

 

i dont think the nissan pulsar had the light go across the back though

maybe a subaru svx or a dodge avenger ?

 

Almost thought Chev. Baretta or Pontiac Grand Prix but not w/ diagonal lights...

 

i'm pretty sure those are off a nissan, maybe it's not the pulsar but its some nissan

 

Too bad my memory isn't infallible.

I'm definitely leaning towards Nissan Pulsar because of the pattern, but I am 100% sure the entire rear tail light assembly went across the whole back. I remember for sure that it was lighting was seperated into 4 seperate sections, as one of them were out. It does remind me of a Pontiac Fiero rear, but with the Pulsar pattern.

Does anyone have pictures of the Pulsar with the above tail light? I google image searched and looked through cardomain but couldn't find one with that tail light installed.

I knew those tail lights were on a pulsar.. whether or not that's the car you're trying to identify

Don't know if it was a coupe or sedan, the street wasn't well lit and the car peeled out after I started to chase the driver down on foot. It was a dark color, possibly all-black.

Ah well. I'm sure it'll be back soon anyways, it's a high narcotics-trafficking area and these guys usually don't stay away for long. Thanks guys.
